I agree whole heartedly with you cowgirl but in reality, even parents that do know will turn a blind eye for many varied reasons like not believing the child, trusting the person the allegations are against, pride and fear.

We now live in a society where stepping up against wrongs has become dangerous and people fear for their own lives. The authories seem to have it all wrong when dealing with criminals as they have all the rights and the victims have to deal with that as well what they have been through.

Definately, but you also need to consider the stigma you can leave on a person should you be wrong. Unfortunately, allegations like these do not just disappear after the fact.

Don't get me wrong, I say hang the bastards, but I also think you need to proceed with caution if you aren't armed with all the facts.

CGD has made a very valid point.....and i should have acted sooner, but i believe everything happens for a reason, even tho at that particular time you cant see it, but i agree if a woman has even the slightest doubt then she has the right to act upon it......would you prefer not to act and destroy a childs life?

Only you would know, Phae, what actually happened that night and you need to be the one who gauges the mood, body language and persona of this man and are now in a position to do what you think is correct. not directed at you phae, but was just saying like ralph you gotta be careful not to make false accusations, there are some real sick guys out there and some will talk about it to get some sort of sick sense of what people think about what they intend to do, either way there are no excuses. you did the right thing,as late as people might think it is, it is better late than not at all.

My arguement is that none of us were there and maybe it was some stupid off the cuff remark. I have a 12 yr old who is extremely immature and I am sure he would have no problem (not that he has) crawling into my bed if maybe if he was having nightmares or was scared. Maybe it was a comment, though badly thought out, describing a situation like that. I don't know, I wasn't there and as I said, only Phae can be the judge of that. Yet we are all so critical about a scenario we know nothing about. Imagine if you were this man and you had done nothing wrong and suddenly you are labelled a pedophile, your own family writes you off, your neighbourhood starts abusing you wanting you to leave and your kids are removed from your care. He may just be a loving father, doing what he thinks is right for his children. Are we all model parents??? I don't think so.

i totally see your point ralf, and only phae knows how it went, but i congratulate her for doing something,if it bothers you act on it is a saying i like.nobody wants to see a life messed up be it a childsor an adults but it isnt harming a person if its just an investigation, too many get away too often ralf. everyone has a story,and this one has a happy ending.

Yes, providing this child is safe and happy, it is a great outcome. Lets all hope that it is indeed a false alarm and this child has been safe and happy all along.

CDG You know i have the utmost respect for you , your imput is well recieved & well respected within the forum however on this I have to disagree with you.Not the content of your arguement ofcourse what these people do is wrong & sure ide want to know asap but it is your attack that I critisize here..
I think we all get the point , we all feel the same even Phae, esspecially Phae, If we critisize & berate another when a truth is discovered perhaps truths wont be revealed as readily.Its a scary thing to come forward & accuse another regardless of the content .
Ide not like to be in Phaes situation , but it is thru this forum , the friends made within that one has felt comfortable enough to come forward to voice an issue , and more importantly to act on advise given , advise given backed up with support .To condemn someone now is silly its like shutting the gate after the horse has already bolted.
