kismat: OK how many peps do you know cheating on their partners, men and woman I know 8 woman cheating and one lose man. So what's your guyz and gurlz take on your friends. Try to be honest now
From my experience it's about 50/50.
Always men are hit a bit more and this maybe a media thing or women are less likely to talk about it.
I saw the results of an experiment which I think was done in Melbourne. A university was doing research into genetic markers handed down to children from their parents. While it was not an objective of the experiment it became very obvious due to the nature of the research being done that not all of the children in the study had the genes that were handed down by their "natural" parents. I do not recall the size of the sample but it involved many hundreds and possibly into the thousands of families.
The results were that just over 15% of the children in the study had inherited DNA from a male other than their stated father.
The thing that really astounded me was not that 15% of the women had cheated on their husband, not that 15% of the women had been "caught"and fallen pregnant while cheating on their husbands. I just wonder how many of those women actually knew they had been "caught" and yet would still participate in a study knowing it's primary aim was to identify the genetic origins of their children and state that it was their husbands child?
I have read that "walk-away wives" is an increasing phenomenon since the early '90s.
I saw a quote once that said when men have a midlife crisis they buy a sports car but women leave their families. I know the CSA stats showed the number of men receiving child support in 2006 doubled according to their newsletter.
Maybe we are now reaching a true equality of the sexes?
