A 69 Mustang counts big time

NOOOO - a car is NOT just a car, a car is an expression of yourself & something to love - I love my SLK with a passion I could never devote to any man!
poodle2000 Melbourne, Victoria Australia
Well, it was a V8, anyway - used to love just taking off at the lights & leaving everyone else behind. It was red, of course and a convertable

The 289 was discontinued before '69. The Mustang would have had anything from a 302 2BBL, 4BBL or Boss 302, 351 Windsor 2BBL, 4BBL, 351 Ceveland 2BBL, 4BBl, 428 (leftovers from '68), or a few variants of the 429 from a plain 2 BBL, PI, CJ, SCJ, to the Boss 429.

Ford built the best musclecars by far as far as technology and engineering, but never built the best ones in high volume, which is rather sad. Generic Motors and Chryco spit them out in droves, and the latter being some pretty low quality products, albeit fast and powerful, but they fell apart quickly too.
Camaros are belly button cars, everyone has or had one, even myself. I have one '77 Camaro now and have had almost a dozen including Firebirds. Not really a fan, but they were fun and cheap at the time.

Can't say I have a fav, but do like the '67/'68 Mustang in a big block 4 speed fastback, the Cobras of course, GT40, and the '70 Torino in a sportsroof, big block. I had one of those and wish I would never have sold it.

I'm out of the muscle cars and have been for years due to the cost of them, and have replaced them with 20's and 30's Ford model T and A stuff. A little more affordable and true "hot rods" that you build.smoking

Still have a few Series IIA Land Rovers and some other junk kicking around too. head banger

Was going to suggest the GT40 - What a machine, ford was on a winner there.

Think it was a 302 - going back a while now. The price of petrol would make it impractical.

Funnily enough, I was booking a crane truck the other day & we somehow got talking about cars, and I discovered I was talking to the guy who bought my Mustang!
