would it be possible for whom ever determines it necessary to either delete posts, or lock threads, to advise those who are involved as the last post perhaps before locking the thread, as to the reason? this may prevent the same mistake being made again, just a thought

Good idea.

Another forum I go to does that and it is good as others don't rehash the same shit!
