On the 25 of august 2008 I gave up smoking Woooohooooo!!!!!I had smoked foreva I used Champix which i have to tell you work so well that you need absolutly zero will power!!! I havnt had a craving , or even the desire to smoke again ..I know ill never spark up again either
For anyone locked into the vice & you really want to give up easily I cant recomend this treatment highly enough It costs about $120.00 but if you have a health care card or a pension benifit its about $5.00 you need a script from the doctor & thats it pop the pill keep smoking by week 2 you just cease..It is that easy !
I know i mwentioned this before & a few other regs here gave up too how is everyone else doin & has anyone else givin up using this pill

well I started on the champix at the beginning of september and Im still a non smoker. I have had a couple of strong cravings in that time mainly when I have been drinking and sitting around chatting with a mate who smokes and I get an association with that person to have one but I haven't given in to the cravings. all up I got 2 scripts filled .. the first one which was a months supply cost me $32 and then another 2 months supply which also cost me $32 so all up it cost me $64 for 3 months worth of pills which is so much cheaper than if I had still been smoking all that time laugh Towards the end I was even forgetting to take the tablets that is how much I WASN'T thinking about smokes so awesome stuff grin

Hi Kizzy,

My flatmate and I are both going onto champix next week.
Sounds like it really is the goods. I've tried everything...hypnosis - can't be hypnotisedwow
acupuncture - no effect. Zyban - bad dreams.
and just about every method on offer. It's a filthy habit that I want to stop. It is affecting my health and fitness, so it's time to get serious.

yep.. me too.. have tried

hypnosis - cant be hypnotised
accupuncture - it hurt to much to press the little thing in my ear so I would rather have a smoke than touch it laugh
patches - im allergic to the sticky plaster
gum - makes me hungry and it just didnt work
zyban - took it for a week.. then had to go on anti-depressant so couldnt take zyban anymore but thought seeing how I had not had a smoke for a week I decided to keep going and stopped smoking for 18 months - easy as to give up then as well
will power method - too stressful and i ate all the time and got cranky with everyone
even went to Allen Carr's Easyway clinic - it worked 2 months after I went to the clinic and got my money back haha.. gave up for 6 months then

oh.. and I had bad dreams on champix as well as the zyban... but hey big deal .. they are dreams and they stop eventually dunno

To all of you.....this will be the best thing you have done in your life....I kid you not!

Its wonderful to hear those stories of success, this is the most terribly addictive drug around and so horribly damaging.

Keep it up you guys...tell us your stories if you are having difficulties and we will support you.

on April 16th, I will have been a non smoker for 2yrs. I gave up reading the book, Allen Carrs - Easy Way to Stop Smoking. I had a lady tell me that she used it and i just about laughed then another lady told me she had used it too, both had been heavy smokers and had stopped for quite a while. I downloaded the book for free and I printed it off. It took me 2 nights to read it and haven't touched a cigarette since. I don't even think about it now unless someone mentions it to me. My sister also gave up reading the book, she is only 5 days behind me. The best part was that it cost me absolutely nothing to give up. I had nothing to loose by reading the book, if it didn't work, then it cost me nothing, i didn't have to use drugs or have any side effects and I didn't put on weight. It took about 2 weeks to really start breaking the habits but i didn't have cravings so it was easy. I still have a PDF of the book so if anyone wants it, just email me. grin

Congratulations everyonecheering no matter how it is done, it is much better for your health!!

I quit a few years ago and I stopped stone dead, cold turkey - I'd smoked since aged 12 ( intermittently, of course ).

I climbed the walls for what seemed like ages - it was the hardest thing I ever did - and even now it bothers me, but I've never had anything, not even a drag, and I won't, because I couldn't do it again.

I don't mind being around smokers, because that actually reinforces to me not only why I quit, but why I stay quit.

Im my case, though, I suppose not drinking is an advantage...

.... blimey .... no smoking, no drinking, no swearing, no loose women ....

.... anyone got a rope spare ????
