Abo_Idol2009: what you talking about this is our land.

I'm part aboriginal,

OK bro, This is our land, your right, it is, but we also share it with the white people,,, your holding a guitar, wearing shoes, clothes, all made in china, of cause!!! but if we didn't share our land, we would still be nowhere....

The government wouldn't have torn down houses, or close it up, because they are bored...

the people there have had heaps of warning!!! heaps of benefit's, heaps of handout, trying to fix the problem, and has it got better, NO!!!

so why, why is it still going on!!! how can people turn a blind eye to it,.. wake up!!!

dont cry racist, that's weak!!!! using that excuse!!! its a cope out!!!
when is enough enough, when some poor innocent child get caught into it, and dies!!!

dont hide behind your colour, as a excuse to scream out, "its unfair".

ITS NOT THE SYSTEM THAT MAKES IT BAD, ITS THE PEOPLE THAT DONT LIVE ACCORDING TO WHATS RIGHT AND WHAT'S NOT!!!

Maybe.....it is great to see you!!cheering

So well said mate.....Life is what you make it, it has it's setbacks and admittedly it may be a bit harder for aboriginals but probably no more than for anyone else that is not stereotypically normal. You need to stand up and be proud of yourself and your race instead of using it. Find your passion, find your drive and do what you want to do as an individual, not an aboriginal, instead of holding yourself back, nobody is stopping you but you.

thought I would post an email I got the other day in here as it seems relevant in a way to what Maybe said ...

they are words spoken by the great black american actor and comedian Bill Cosby.. ita about black american taking responsibility for their own actions and behaviours and being responsible for who they are as a race of people.. his main focus is education but its what underlies what he is saying ..is the reason why I decided to post it here

so here goes grin

'They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English.

I can't even talk the way these people talk:

Why you ain't,
Where you is,
What he drive,
Where he stay,
Where he work,
Who you be... I'm like....

And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk.

And then I heard the father talk.

Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth

In fact you will never get any kind of job making a decent living.

People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an Education, and now we've got these knuckleheads walking around.

The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal.

These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids.

$500 sneakers for what?

And they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics.

I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit.

Where were you when he was 2?

Where were you when he was 12?

Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol?

And where is the father? Or who is his father?

People putting their clothes on backward:
Isn't that a sign of something gone wrong?

People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something?

Isn't it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles going through her body?

What part of Africa did this come from??

We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa .....

I say this all of the time. It would be like white people saying they are European-American. That is totally stupid.

I was born here, and so were my parents and grand parents and, very likely my great grandparents. I don't have any connection to Africa, no more than white Americans have to Germany , Scotland , England , Ireland , or the Netherlands . The same applies to 99 percent of all the black Americans as regards to Africa . So stop, already! ! !

With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap ......... and all of them are in jail.

Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem.

We have got to take the neighborhood back.

People used to be ashamed. Today a woman has eight children with eight different 'husbands' -- or men or whatever you call them now.

We have millionaire football players who cannot read.

We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs. We, as black folks have to do a better job.

Someone working at Wal-Mart with seven kids, you are hurting us.

We have to start holding each other to a higher standard.

We cannot blame the white people any longer.'

We have to find positive solutions to move forward in harmony.
bubblesron maryborough, Queensland Australia
Seems to me that there have been many "solutions" over the years, they all seem good and well motivated at the time, but history shows that they have caused damage. I have no idea what the solution is other than putting aside differences and working together.

We whites can not solve the problem for the aboriginals, but one thing that they could look at is the example set by one of my nephews. I remember Bobby when he first started to look at his torres strait heritage, he was all excited. I congratulated him on his hard work in finding out abour that part, but reminded that he should also check the rest. The Italian heritage, the Finnish, the English. He is none of those alone, he is a mixture of all.

Abo_Idol2009: what you talking about this is our land.

Hey, I was born here 60 yrs ago, I served overseas in this country's defence forces (beside some black mates) it is my land too.

If we went all around world and restored all the land to the "original" people, it would involve moving most of the world. Look at England and see how many times it has been invaded over history, I cant even remember who were the original people of that island. The were the Angles, the picts, the normans, the vikings and god knows who else. the same thing is still happening today. After WW2 the allies dumped a whole heap of jewish refugees in a place called Palestine, and told the locals, Ok this is now Israel and these people own this land.

I myself think there is no excuse for acts that are in living memory, but the world is made of defeated people. always has been, always will be. Civilisations rise and then they fall. The US is on the way down at the moment

The government need to stop segregating aboriginal and torres strait islanders from white australia. Equality for everyone needs to be created. Have a look at the welfare system, there are separate payment schedules in place depending on your skin colour. The same in the education system, housing and loans, laws.....the list goes on. The same needs to be applied to everyone across the board so we all are on an even basis. I think a lot of animosity would be solved by doing this. The media also need to have a look at the way they report on issues also, they blow things out of proportion and highlight things that aren't really that important.

GEE Ralfie!!
That actually sounds a lot like what a certain lady was espousing for this country just a few years back. Unfortunately she was rubbished in the media and crucified by the politically correct people. Her name was Pauline Hanson.
