doesn't the old saying go, if it's too good to be true, then it probably is...

I have found, although my experiences are small, since I'm only 30, that the more you age, the wiser you become. Say when I was 19, I woulda believed anything and everything...now I'm so much more skeptical and weary of what's out there.

I applaud you for seeing through the scammer kawai...it's not always easy and they really do seem much smarter these days !

1. does a scammer often live a long way from you ?
2. are they sometimes overseas ?
3. do they ask you to send money so they can visit you ?

BTW, I have read the scam warnings on here and these are just curiosity and also for future reference so I don't get caught.

I think the fallout from these assholes is the emotional drain it puts on you as Darkhorseman said .We all are vunerable simply because we all want to find our equal , the other half to the puzzle ,our love our muse it makes us targets we are preyed upon because one thing that makes us weak is lonliness even the strongest of us has a soft spot .The sad thing is we endup having our hearts broken our trust shattered & worse yet we begin to doubt our ability to judge anothers character & at our age reading people is a skill we have all spent alot of time developing .
The other negitive is we begin to become sceptical & not as trusting once we have been bitted the old toughen Up response kicks in ...

I tend not to become involved with anyone I cant meet within 2 weeks I dont get personal I dont give out info & If i cant see them ie webcam i wont chat (dont have cam?) Buy one !They are under $50 ,cant buy one I wont talk to you.

I will post the whole story, its quite interesting, and may help others, but for the time being I'll just answer one of the questions asked. He didn't ask for any money. He just picked the wrong target. Nobody is that perfect, so I got suspicious. Asked him a few questions and the answers got me even more suspicious. So I sent an email to CS asking if anyone else had reported this guy. The investigated, removed him and sent me an email thanking me for the report and telling me he was gone.
