Blackgentleman: A lot of scammers in the moods. They are going to work reeeesolutely that the real women do'nt get a chance!I even noticed some colored people feel they are stigmatized for scammer.

So who can tell me how to recognize a scammer and how can we keep this site clean of scammer? With the exception of asking for email address in the first message by a scammer, there must be more chraracteristics of a scammer.

Watch out for the scammer!

new one on me recently ! always nigerians too......below 30 year old babes........chat / wanna meet / suddenly ' kids ' on the scene and babysitters required........one suggested 400 euros !

In spite of the severe screening some scammers escape from the attention of the crews. If I catch the warn signal I report them. But I do'nt know if the crews have time to handle all reports.Beecause after several report I note that profile of the scammer I reported still visible.

Or if I am wrong I expect they inform me that.

Thanks everybody for his comments! beer

I have been cheated € 7200 a man who posed as U.S. military and also told me that I had a pineapple company in Ghana. Now i don't know more about him, but i preffer not to know because i know he will never return me the money i gave him.
I spoke with a man in ghana by phone, and i am sure that he was the same man who said me he was a military.

I hope you have good luke, but for my experience, NEVER SEND MONEY to someone you don't know NEVER!!

My english is vey bad, but i hope you can understand me!!

WOW! Absolutely amazing that there STILL are people who send money! Everywhere on this site are warnings about this!
So it must be true - that for every 10,000 mails sent out they get some return ... no wonder its a thriving business!

Sometimes, under their photo here on the site they show a country in Europe - and then get to chat or email regular ... and then .................................YES ..................they somehow or other are in another country (the regular occuring ones not in Europe) and have a sob story.

I even had one guy said he lived in Zurich! but he was doing an art exhibition in Nigeria. Like, hey man, the Nigerians are BIG into Art Exhibitions!!rolling on the floor laughing

Oh ... he`d had an accident with his (uninsured) car - killed a child - and the family wanted Blood Money - no court case - I just felt SO sorry for him, I asked how much money he needed? He realy badly needed 20,000 Euros ... So I said I`d better send him 200,000 - rather be safe than sorry, didn`t want him getting stoned to death or something .......rolling on the floor laughing popcorn typing drinking rolling on the floor laughing
Then I told him my Uncle is the brother of the President of Nigeria and I`d get him to sort it out quick quick so he could fly back into my loving arms.

I never heard from him againconfused

Perhaps scammers have different approaches to different "segments"?

I myself have noticed some signs. They are not in themselves a clear scammer alert but many of the signs may indicate: Scammer!

They are widowed, with children and they have not a 9-5 job, very often contractors travelling all over the world. Most often they are from the US or UK. These "clever" scammers don´t give their email or messenger address in the 1st contact. They most often have only 1 photo. They use nicks such as: Rudy4love, Wayback2luv, searchingwill, johnwilliams and so on....

The worst about these scammers is the bad mood give me. When you are dating, you have to have a very open mind but scammers force us to be suspicious and negative!

I HATE SCAMMERS! I´ve tried a new counter-attack. Since most of the scammers are West African, superstitions are their cultural, if not religious, heritage. So when I find out they are scammers, I send them curses of impotense, their wifes are going to cheat on them and they will suffer public ridicule. I KNOW these curses make them scared and uneasy.

This is not more than they deserve - but still it doesn´t make ME feel any the better. Being evil, even if only in "self defense", IS very bad for yourself!

Those signs you’ve mentioned – yes, these people have some pattern in their behavior that is possible to recognize rather soon. Even the “clever” ones. Often they send you a long letter telling about themselves in trivial terms, that has no references to your profile, and you somehow feel that the letter is pre-written and has no live in it. And when some of them contact me, I try to remain calm and … slow. It happens that they disappear from your contact list in a day, maximum two. And you’ve saved your time and some ink. grin

It’s practical to be slow on a dating site!

Is very good advice! Go very very very slow, make them fall asleep you going so slow, like you realy got a problem waking up ..... unless of course, you offer them double what they asking, and then you get to see them get all excited, but you just PRESS THE BUTTON! and forget about them!

Press the button? Too much effort… I’m too slow even for that
