In response to: ...says it is immature and childish to hold a woman,s hand,to tell her you love her and absolutely totally lunatic to tell her your darkest secrets. When his girlfriend (and yes,he is very very successful with the women)asks him if he loves her he replies " Where am I ? I,m here, right, with you, right ? So why do I need to say with words what I tell you with my presence ? "
Good evening, Elley,
I could tell a man how much I feel about him a whole lot more in actions than with words. I agree with your mate, in a way; but it takes one with your own wavelength to understand that. Nevertheless, if one's partner want to be reassured by hearing it, words will never go amiss. It's still an act of kindness, don't you think?
I think with true love, there is no limit to what you can do to please each other. And you won't mind it a bit.
Regarding telling your darkest secrets, if it will make you feel better, why not? We keep things to ourselves thinking it is so awful for others to hear, but more often than that, it is just in our minds. If a person really loves you, she'll accept you just as you are, including your past -- no matter how sordid it may be.
