Hi there! Are there any fans of culture from German-speaking countries? I mean music, literature, cuisine, travel, films, etc. Tell me about your impressions, why you like this and that... I'm hooked on that subject and wanna find you if there are people here who think the same way as I do.....

Is anybody learning German?

Hm... never thought in terms of "German culture". I can think of Rilke and Friedrich... and Schopenhauer (was he German?), oh and Hermann Hesse and Thomas Mann. And Kraftwerk, of course... and the Berlin railway station... and Octoberfest and sauerkraut with sausages but you have that in Poland too... hm? Enlighten me if you feel so inclined!

Ah but
Nietsche I think was Austrian. It's easy to get them mixed up though! Schubert was too... Oh but Heidegger, Hegel and Kant were German! Not bad. My brain is starting to work which is good because Germany is often surpassed as way boring. And of course, The South is very different and very lovely, as is Berlin.
Yeah I don't remember was it the railway station or the airport that they built recently? Supposed to be amazing.

Ah, I've been to Gdansk many times! Will never forget the sauerkraut/sausages they served in the ferries! laugh

I speak some German. cheers

Yeah they are diligent and hardworking, that's for sure. Unfortunately their reputation isn't always quite deserving of the real nature of many Germans, I've known a few really nice ones too.
