Elley: I jus want my mum, any takers ? Please be aware that mum was well blessed and is a pretty bloody tough act to follow.81 and still going strong,an very few of us could walk a mile in her shoes. My god,the old timers knew what shit was and still came out shining. And so to all mums.
They sure did. When I think of my own mother, leaving all she loved behind, her friends, her mother, the handmade mahogany furniture, her country...to follow her husband, who had an attack of 'wanderlust', migrating to Australia
Then think of my two grandmothers, one living 'til she was 103. She never saw her husband again after he left for Argentina in the 30's, and raised four children on her own. No welfare in those days.
Yet these women kept loving their children. And those others with husbands, often put their own wishes and needs aside. Sadly.
And many other stories we can all add.
