canarian sauce "mojo picon"

well, i know many people was impressioned by our canarian potatoes and spice sauce "papas arrugadas con mojo"

I hope to do this typical dish from canary islands, if any interested to make yourself.

first, the list!!!
small sizes potatoes,
washing and boiled
in salted water
with skin (20 -25 min)

retire the water after that time
and leave 5 - 8 minutes in fire
untill the skin appear dry and
white, (by the salt)dancing banana


in robot put the follows ingredients:
4-5 garlick pieces
10 toasted almonds
some cummin (at your choice)
dry red pepper (be honest)
cooking salt (be carefull)
olive oil and cover the others ingredientes
soup spoon of vinegar
mixed!! and put again same of olive oil and vinegar.
mix again!! and taste for salt or garlick
if are soft put more garlick, if hard taste
put some water (no much)

ready to serve!!! cheering

I think the most difficult part of this recipe is getting the robot.

Mmm, thank you! Good memories about 2 weeks in Grancanaria, 2004. applause

Actually I think that memory about taste of food is the most powerful memory about every country, this ir emocional backgraound. If you didn't like food barfing in this place, but saw nice places only - I'm sure that your memories can't be very happy and you don't want see it egain. Yes, I like art and nature so muche, but I like food and comfort too... Of course, it is only my opionion dancing banana

Amrita, I am sorry you did not find the real good Restaurants on the Gran Canaria, if you ever go again.. stay away from the tourist places for food.. take a car and go inland, or the little fishing villages, or into Las Palmas and I assure you, nothing they serve will make you barfing wine

highfidelity, thanks for your recommendation. But... my experience fot canariesš food was very good, no problems! It was nice time, nice weather, nice people and nice memories!....

I did write (try :)) generally about feelings from travels to another contries - not about this one. Canary was good - and of course i have been in small vilages - it is improtant rule in every travel - not only toursit palce, but how to see real life in this country. dancing

thats right my german lady, i'm canarian and i hate tourist places, the best holidays are when you try out of circuits, discovery, taste, show all with other eyes, if you try it you get it!!! ist my way of holiday maker.love
