Wow!!! now that's an eye-open on how so people regard those who are half decent! I wouldn't have expected such a sweeping statement from you Ghost! If there is any truth in that perception, it explains why many women act the way the do then

well lionheart I may be completely wrong but unfortunately this has been my experience there are of course many people who are guenine...honest...sweet and kind,.......but I have also noticed that there are some individuals who have acted in really bad ways who can also behave so sweetly and kindly ..... I have been deceived numerous times and then you get individuals who are very blunt honest tactless and dont come over very well who underneath are very good people....it was not meant to be a generalisation but it does happen and unfortuantely it makes you far more wary which is not always a good thing i admit

I takes all sorts. What you describe applies for women too. I have been there. But I think it is wrong to build defences and bastions to excluding everybody. It may mean a risk of course. But isn't like full of risks?

I think and have experienced that some people are not so much sheep in wolf clothing as blind to WHO they are (a little confused without admitting it) ... All the better to serve their own purpose of course and they lie to themselves almost without seeming to realise but all the better to lie to others whilst having a clear conscience ...

There are also the ones who are totally dellusional about who and what they are and truely believe what they are sharing ...

Then there are the ones who own up to a "way of being" which might not sound favourable but swear blind they wouldn't dream of treating YOU like that because you deserve better ... Yeah!! Right!!! Till the tide turns and then you're next at the receiving end of "it"!!!

Not to be forgotten, the compulsive liars and manipulators ... Who have no idea themselve where truth and lies overlap ... a bit like an illness ...

That leaves the real sheep in wolf clothing ... The ones who are con people in a small or big sense ... Everything is just a veneer to attract and con you out of something, time, emotions, money ... they know exactely what they are doing and think themselves CLEVER for taking advantages of the trusting and beautiful minds ...

Not sure which of the categories is the worse one to be involved with ...

Let's not forget about the last and rare category of sheep......a sheep in sheep's clothing...

..these are the one's that look you in the eye and say, "I want to be with you for the rest of my life"...they are always there when you need them, they're the one's that pack you a lunch for the next day before you even asked, they'll fold your clothes for you and put them on the bed, when you would've just thrown them over a chair, and they'll send you a loving text message when you expect it least....

....Are there any of these rare creatures left??...or has the last one been hunted out of existence??....and sitting in some mansion, the trophy of a wealthy, possibly undeserving Predator??

That puts us exactly where we started. My view is that there is a general feeling amongst people that decent/good guys/women do not exist in real life and anyone who appears so is only putting it on because they have a hidden agenda. Therefore the good people get pushed aside and given a miss.

confused Never knew butler's sent loving messages ... The last one to be heard of was no longer "sitting in some mansion the trophy of a wealthy possibly undeserving predator" ... There was something said about love letters and personal items ... But I can't for the life of me remember what else the papers said about Di's butler dunno

laugh You mean you want a lady buttler ... then when she's done with all the buttlering duties joins you in bed for a night of mad passionate love, then gets up earlier than you so that she can resume her buttlering duties?

I don't know if there are any left dunno They probably all burned their bras and stuff by now if they were born in the times of buttlering they might even in an urn on someone's mantlepiece ... Mind you they sure wouldn't argue back if that's the case !!!

laugh

But the best way to find out is to start a new thread " Would you be a "stay at home wife who does all the housekeeping duties as well as wifery one IF I went went out and brought the bacon home so you didn't have to work" ... and see what replies you get ... (You might want to alter my words slightly so it sounds more appealing laugh )

"You mean you want a lady buttler"....

Please don't assume anything.....I am not looking for a butler, a buttler or a servant-sans-bum...

"then when she's done with all the buttlering duties joins you in bed for a night of mad passionate love"....

Please don't assume anything.....if I had vacancies open for a butler and a lover.....I would prolly hire two people......and make sure the butler is butt-ugly so my lover won't run off with him....:-)

"They probably all burned their bras and stuff by now...."
I'd never even THINK of hiring for either post a woman who doesn't own a bra.....
I like bras, I think they look fabulous on a woman, especially when they complement
the french maid's outfit...ha ha.

"But the best way to find out is to start a new thread " Would you be a "stay at home wife..."
I wouldn't want to do this, because then everybody would think I'm an old-fashioned sexist macho wanker who wants a woman slave dressed in a sexy outfit, floating around my castle with a duster, ready for sex at the snap of my finger.........

What do I want? I want economic parity.

Barring that, I want a Sugar Daddy.

A store that sells new husbands has just opened in New York City ,
where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at
the entrance is a description of how the store operates:

You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value
of the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights. The
shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to
go up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit
the building!

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the first
floor the sign on the door reads:

Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs.
She is intrigued, but continues to the second floor, where the sign reads:

Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.
'That's nice', she thinks, 'but I want more.'
So she continues upward. The third floor sign reads:

Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good Looking.
'Wow,' she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking
and Help With Housework.
'Oh, mercy me!' she exclaims, 'I can hardly stand it!'

Still, she goes to the fifth floor and the sign reads:
Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help
with Housework, and Have a Strong Romantic Streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor, where the
sign reads:

Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men
on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are
impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.

PLEASE NOTE:

To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opened a New Wives
store just across the street.

The first floor has wives that love sex.
The second floor has wives that love sex and have money.
The third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors have never been visited

What women say they want is very different from what they really want (which I truely have no idea).

All my life I have heard from my female friends, clients and students, of how they want a man who is communicative and honest. I consider myself to be one of those type of men. But my experience tells me that when women get a man like this, they have no idea how to respond or relate to him (me).

I thinks it's a case of, "having is not the same as wanting"... or maybe it's just easier to complain....barfing

Well I have known of men who have been really communicative and honest with their wife at the time (now no longer their wife), and THEY can't understand why their wife left them and didn't stick around coz they were sooooooooooooo honest AND communicative and they DID NOT mean that they didn't love their wife.

The guys said things like "You see the reason I like spending time with her is that "she" recharges my batteries and I don't feel like that when I'm with you" ... another good one "Your friend is soooooo sexy, I'd really like to fuck her" ... need I go on? These are just 2 examples to give you guys an idea of "how" not to be honest and communicative ...
Not saying that's what you do Curry ... just that honesty and communication are very vague words of which parameters need establishing without lying being necessary ...

May be that's why that book about women and men being from different planets was written because what women see as paramount men see as "silly laddish stuff" SOMETIMES ...

Sticky one this. People sometimes think that they know what they want. Then when they get it they sometimes start to think it is not what they want after all and that they want something else. Then when it,s gone they think that maybe it was what they wanted all along. Some people can go through a lifetime like this and it is perhaps an indication not that there was something wrong with what they wanted/had but something wrong within themselves. Then there are people, all of us,who simply change,or whose needs change. At the end of the day it is all about negotiation, not just with other people, but with yourself to accommodate those changes. For negotiation read communication, and not just words, meaningful or empty.
