Two years ago I went on a 10 DAY summer holiday... greek island and all that, with a guy friend of mine, I took a large shoulder bag.
He couldn't believe it..... noone can ever believe it even when they see it.....

I ended up carrying HIS BAGS mumbling mumbling mumbling rolling eyes

I also ended up having something different to wear most every day and he ran out of clothes!!!!!

Shoes? My favourite subject ...... this year this is what I would pack -

My old pair of running shoes - for walking & comfort;
Navy velvet Moccasins - for slippers and coldish weather;
Flat red polka dot sandals with glitz - in case I find a place for dancing;
High heel leather sandals - In case I get lucky and find a date.

= Wear running shoes for travelling & pack 3x
You gotta admit that is good hey?!dancing gotta go shimmy rollers

Oh, and the SHOES I took that time were brand new, comfortable but UNBELIEVABLY impractical.

They were what we call 'pasoumakia' here. From india? middle east???
They were a salmon colour, made of silk and had tiny beaded sequenced flowers all over them.
No heel (like ballerinas) but a totally unprotected hand-sewn leather sole instead.
And I climbed a mountain in them...... rolling eyes laugh

That depends.
Imelda Marcos would pack a "few" more Pairs than us regular Mortals.
One or two Spares,maybe a pair of Zoccoli if you go down to Ticino.
No use overloading yourself.
I believe many people never remember that Pair of Shoes they are already wearing.laugh grin
Hope Ticino is warmer that Old Cold Zurich.sigh wave

rolling on the floor laughing Love it! Us women are good hey when it comes to packing for a holiday!

I also went on a holiday with a guy friend once - I packed (ok it was early in my travelling days, I`ve got more economical now) a HUGE suitcase of clothes, but my case had wheels. He had a medium size case with NO wheels. So at the airport his lordship gallantly grabs MY case and waltzes off rolling it along, leaving me with his little case that weighed half a ton! I dropped it right there, and 20mins later at our boarding gate, when I caught up with him, having strolled along viewing the Duty Free stuff ... informed him where his case was.

I must admit it was the beginning of a holiday in hell!

Reading my posting above, I been wondering what was wrong with it - didn`t sound "right"? The reason is - the cases were not weighed in and carted off for seperate loading .... this was an internal flight, long ago, and cases were loaded directly onto a Hawker Sidley plane (one of those old planes with propellers!) - Jeeesh, just shows how old I am hey! I think those planes are in museums now!

as much as I love shoes....

if I'm off to rough it, it's mountain boots for me; you can wear a dress and still look right in them, you can go to the beach with them and climb a mountain if you wish (I don't wish to climb mountains, thank you), those boots look great with jeans and with shorts or even with nothing onrolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

apart from those boots, it's a pair of flip-flops; I wouldn't want to catch something in public showers!

Oh yes, the "Cats"!? Yes, they look great even with a bikini top and sarong! And I remember the flip-flops - used to wear those in SA when travelling for using in the Truck Stop showers!cheers
