They get these huge salaries, and yet they still get so much for free too.
I lived in a seaside village in SA, and just up the road was "Botha House", a mansion on a private golf course, with its own tidal pool, etc., and the cabinet ministers would arrive in army helicopters for their vacations/long week-ends. And chauffeurs would arrive with their big black limos......
One day in the local supermarket, big black limo outside, I saw these two cabinet ministers (the one was to become the President a few years later) and their wives shopping. The one wife was asking which brand of butter she should buy. Those days no-one ate Real Butter it was way too expensive. This big guy in his black suit shouts at his wife "Ek wil egter botter eet!" (I want to eat Real Butter!).
Well, they could afford it. I just thought they were so gross! and greedy! And they had no real pride, they were just gluttons living off the fat of the land, while all around them were very poor people with nothing to eat.
