Do any of you grow your own sprouts? They are instant high energy food, packed with vitamins and minerals .....

For instance, did you know the best way to injest Collagen is thru eating sprouts of Sunflower Seeds?.. and some others, I just got to look them up, if anyone is interested? Collagen is the stuff that provides your skin with elasticity - so you dont wrinkle up with old age!dancing jack-o-lantern :witch on broomstick emoticon:

Morning DragonLady! ... Yes, you put some into a wide mouthed old jam jar, fill with water, soak for 24hrs, drain. Then every day rinse them again and drain, and the smaller they are the sooner they sprout! They are packed with nutrition - think of all that energy that is about to grow itself into a bushy shrub producing thousands of that one seed! .... You fill yourself up with all that energy!

yum...

I'd better go and find some then.....

I won't be able to get rid of the already existing wrinkles but I might be able to have extra ones for a while!

I used to eat soya bean sprouts.... I'm sure I have one of thos germinising things but a jar is just fine.

You need to change the water quite often during the 24hrs to prevent fermentation, with Soya.
Chick Peas are good to sprout, and very quick, they germinate within 2days - good source of protein!

If you cut a circle of some old net curtaining and tie it over the jar with an elastic band, makes rinsing them easier and keeps them clean..... Happy eating!

Talking seriously I heard about the issue many, many times ,but I have never tried to grow sprouts for myself- so Sunflower seeds are preferable -Ok-thank you Smoky for sharing itbouquet of flowers

I dont think this would be a good idea for you Rusty ..... it might make you more devastatingly deadly handsome than you already are, it might smooth out your skin to baby-bum smoothness, it might give you more energy than you already possess! It might even make your already full head of hair sprout (forgive the pun) thicker and hairier! No no, these things are only for us lesser mortals who are more in need of self-improvement and maintenance......cheers

So I bought a package of Cress-Alfalfa and a Package of a mixture of Mungbean,Lentil,and ChickPea-Sprouts.Only cost sF 5.50.
Eat the Cress with some Limejuice/Oliveoil and Tunafish.
Damn,made quite a Lunch.
Gonna definitely look into that Sprouting Thing.

MUNGBEANS! I been searching for them everywhere! Just the dried beans to sprout myself.....

ALFALFA sprouts .....Referred to as "the father of all foods" its one of the most nutritious and alkaline of all plants. Rich in organic vitamins and minerals.

LENTIL sprouts ....These form a complete protein with rice and other grain foods.

CHICK PEAS .... A good source of protein - muscle food! See? No need to fry steaks for protein!

Conrad .. probably for your sF5.50 you could buy whole bags of the seeds and make hundreds of batches of sprouts! You only fill a bottle about quarter full of seeds, cause they swell and need room to sprout.
