last was great !..i met i very interesting charity worker that devotes half of his time raising money for children orphanges in india that wants me to film their charity at work at the glastonbury music festival next month !
if we get on as well as i think we will i might even go to india with them !
because i love people that are open.. talks about theirselves wear their hearts on their sleeves ...and give us things to talk about !
anyway here we are again on a sunday lunchtime ! ..have you got a swimming pool then ? if so how big is ? and how often do you use it ?
anyway who's crimson elvis ? and are you a costume or dress maker then ? my auntie used to do that and i use to help her sell aberdashery in a street market ..she taught me how to have a bit of confidence in myself and shout out to customers " sale day today ..sale day today everything must go sale day today " those were the good old days !
what this guy that met last night was saying was quite interesting ...he's traveled most of england and hates london smoky ! he says " london is the most segregated city in england " what do you think about that ??
Ahh, so you make films?... now thats interesting! You the Cameraman? or the Director? or What?
Yup, we got a pool - one of those horrible big blue plastic liner things that you just fill with water - its Enormous!.. about 5m across x 1.25 deep. We got this old fashioned house that has an underground tank that fills with rainwater, so we got FREE water to fill it with. One day, when we get organised here, we gonna put in a proper "natural" pool, full of reeds, rocks, willows etc, that has no filter pump - looks like a natural rock pool - but for now this is just for the little kids to have fun! (Instant pool, just add water!)
"Crimson Elvis" - thats just a friend of my son here who is a Bricklayer/Chef/Singer/Musician - entered a Swiss competition for Elvis Sing-alike and came second! He`s realy good - and very very comical! One of those talented folk who can imitate any singer! We love it when he arrives .... sometimes he cooks for us, and sings and performs and has us rolling on the floor with laughter!
My Duty on this Earth seems to be to get people "launched" - he couldn`t afford the high quotes for his first Elvis Costume, so I made it - for half the price. Now he is earning Big Bucks after his tour, and has ordered his next costume from professionals in Dallas! (I`m a semi-retired Dressmaker/designer/Tailor) .
Sounds like you came up thru life the "hard way"? That usually makes the best people, they got more empathy for others.
London? I never been there. But I hear the British are still very class conscious? Rather amusing, in todays world. But I think, if you talking ethnicity segregation - most places are like that. I was in Italy and in the square at night I never saw mixed groups of people talking .... or taking coffee together... Different race groups seems to congregate with their own kind. Well, its natural, I guess to feel more at home and relaxed with like-minded people? Me, I love mixing and learning.
In South Africa at this little gallery I worked in, my black friends would visit me, and we`d sit outside at the tables drinking coffee, and I`d watch the reactions of different white folk arriving.... Some would look at us with disgust, get back in their car and drive away! And others would give a sort of simpering "Oh isn`t that nice"type of look at us. The only people who acted natural were the foreign european tourists. But I guess SA is more natural now, they got too many other problems to worry themselves over, than the colour of ones skin!
Oops, spending too much time on this thread - gotta go! I should write blogs, but I not inspired to write to myself!
