If some other people upset you, are you able to control your feelings or do you let them get to you?

Feel so much better if the former, the latter shows one to be weak and as bad as the person trying (and by your reaction knowing he/she is succeeding) to upset you.

'Nobody is capable of hurting you unless you let them'

is something I'd like to live by -

all pain is ultimately mental........

so, theoretically, one could even dismiss physical pain - but that takes either a saint or a very unusual circumstances to be able to acheive.

It really depends what the subject matter is all about.

Sometimes I just listen, when they talk about me, without knowing me in person. I'll be standing close by just listening. Sometimes I put a bad comment myself against me, to see if they take up the bait and continue to bash me or come to my defence.

If there is a chance that they are right, then I correct my ways without commenting.

If I hear them say anything about my woman, then all masks come down, If it is something serious then I may show it in other ways besides words.
As a lion, that is the way I feel I have to be.

"Controlling ones feelings" ... what does that actually mean? I think feelings are uncontrollable because it is something inside one, a reaction to something done or said, that affects one, whether you show it on the outside or not?

However, the showing of ones feelings ..... we all react differently. I discovered that the more intensely hurt I got the more I laughed and hid my true feelings of anger/disappointment/regret/whatever. (someone pointed this out to me - and only then did I recognise what I was doing). By not voicing my true feelings I was inclined to suffer from subliminal nervous problems. Facing my feelings honestly and acting on them in a more positive way .... Well, I guess now the other person gets subliminal nervous problems?wink cheers
