Money is appreciated most by those who have been trying to earn it all their lives, fail to do it because all sorts of adversities, and bad luck, and feel that they owe it to their children to leave them something, so that their children would not go through the same shitty life that their parents have had to go through. Seeing old farts spending all their children's money in old age is replusive and disgusting. It is money wasted on crippled half alive people who should do better than stay here, and go and meet the Risen Lord, if they can find Him. After all there is better than here, they tell us....and what's more. it's for free, or should that be free for all???

Dear Antcus, Money, that filthy old lucré, is MOST appreciated by those who have spent their time Earning it! After all, the only money one has, is the money one did not spend!

Your above dialogue is self-defeating anyway .....If the parents had so much adversity, bad luck, etc and failed to accumulate any money... how do they get to have anything to leave? ... By scimping and scraping and doing without what their kids would call "essentials"? ... like a little holiday, some new clothes, some decent underwear, a few cosmetics, decent food, and loads of other repulsive and disgusting things aged folk who`ve spent a lifetime working for should not need?

Ever seen what people do with things they given for free? .... it has NO value to them. People only appreciate what they have earned for themselves. I feel that if you want to ruin your childs life, make sure they know HOW MUCH they going to inherit, free and gratis ..... guaranteed they will rather spend their OWN money on things like nice holidays, new clothes, beautiful lingerie, cosmetics, lavish food, and entertaining ... in the style which they assume is guaranteed to them for the future. Also, make sure you take into account Inflation, so they not tooo disappointed when they finally inherit and find they can only afford an ordinary sedan car instead of the Super Modified Sports Coupe they longing for - or the the 3 bedroomed penthouse apartment with pool has to be reduced to a studio bed-sit!

If I were you, I would not blaspheme too freely about Things you dont seem to know about - He/She may be for real - and waiting for you!......Rather veer onto the cautious side of life, its safer.... Screaming down the highway of life on the wrong side of the road while you feeling immortal is just like in real life ...... almost guaranteed you gonna be a fatality!
uh oh! wink grin

No! Seriously?! I had an entire paragraph devoted to the subject of Paris Hilton here, and I deleted it, thinking I did not want to confuse Antcus too much!

Here`s what I said, and omitted to include ........

"Now the most perfect example I could offer would be Paris Hilton, that icon of fashion, life-style, and the paparazzi - except I do believe her folk did not have to die first, she is merely indulging in the lifestyle of an Heir to the Fortune? I am wondering, realy I am, What she is going to Do With Her Life, when the Full Inheritance belongs to her? Does she have a need to ever turn her hand to much other than being filmed?.. and admired, and photographed? I wonder too ..... sometime in the far distant future, whether she will feel she does not want her own children to "suffer" the disillusionment that she had with life, and so send them off pennyless to Make Something of Their Lives?

Think too, of Marlon Brandos children? and the children of other mega rich people ...... with their energy thwarted they turn to drugs and cults.......

Yup, I agree. Money is an Entity, so when you work for it, it works for you! Those who get money for nothing, well the money does Nothing for them too!

No no ... you just leave your children the old oak furniture and all those other ugly old pieces of furniture you been lugging around all your life, plus all the photo albums, the silver cutlery thats got to be polished every time you use them, the pure linen tablecloths and bedsheets that need ironing, all the valuable ornaments they can spend their time dusting, all their little old baby toys you kept for momentoes - in exchange for their time they got to spend going thru all your piles of old papers you kept in case there`s some valuables hidden in bank-vaults they dont know about......and then they got to find somewhere to dump your old moth eaten clothes, and they gonna feel so guilty about how little you spent on yourself, that by the time they find that you left all your money to the animal welfare shelter they gonna start feeling better about doing nothing for you and not taking you out more often from the old age home where you spent your time gazing out the window in case they ever came for a visit......sad flower wink grin

Now the Question arises:Who owns the Dang Property and Money?
The Old Fart who made it in the First Place,or the Children who can't wait to get their GRUBBY Fingers on something they haven't earned?????

The old fart would'nt have wanted it for himself. He has been accustomed to living without everything all his life. Being clever is all a part of administering wealth. Do like me, leave it in a trust, where kids can enjoy it but not dispose of it or waste it......over my dead body they would!!!!!!

It is very difficult for me to answer you in a few words, but I'll try Smoky.
Bad luck does not last a lifetime. Cleverness defeats ignorance and by entering a few clever deals, one could make up for a life of deprivation.
Although it must have sounded like I live on bread and water, it is not the case.
My story is that my family, one of the three richest in the island, in the past, has gone unfortunately to a mediocre level of wealth. What I am trying to do is to build that wealth back, not for myself, but for my children, maybe one day we will be in a much better position, just to reflect some little fragment of our illustrious and glorious past.
I am also trying to resurrect our title to nobility which was lost over the last century.
Maybe you will understand a little bit more the context of my claim.

Dang, Antcus, you old fart you! ....... So you reckon life is about being a miserable old git, working your fingers to the bone, hoarding all your money, being miserly, darning your worn out old socks, wearing under-rods full of holes and stretched elastic, tying up your trousers with a piece of rope, doing your shopping in the 2nd hand store ..... all so your kids can enjoy the money you leave them?

Okay, so I guess that if you got enough to warrant forming a trust and paying the administrators their salaries, then maybe you dont have to work so hard at not spending anything on yourself - but dont go betting over your dead body, cause that is exactly what happens - sometimes - trusts sometimes have a way of not existing for too long, y`know? ... lots of greedy little fingers find their way into cash caches!

If one has THAT much money to hoard, I`d recommend it be spent getting them kids educated into one of the top earning professions, even if it means having them repeating their studies for years and years - at least then they will be almost guaranteed a good life-style.......and they will have done it (almost) by themselves! You could even try and buy them an Honoury Doctorate, or bribe someone to pass them.... Then take yourself off on that round the world cruise before you kick the bucket.... or get Alzeimers.

Oh sorry, I think we got "crossed lines" here in our exchange .... I did not think you were talking personally, thought you`d just voiced an opinion, as I voiced mine..

Now, you see why I began that thread "Re-introduce yourself"? ... That is where your story would have been most appreciated .. its sounds fascinating! There`s things like this that are so interesting to read about other peoples lives. To me, I was under the impression you another Brit ex-pat living in Malta, just driving your half-track around and terrorising the police and locals.......! oh okay, I know you told us you hire it out to movie makers, but still ................................

-A taste of chocolate is the answer to your waist Marti
there,s no waste - you can wrap it up for next time-a hastened desire is acquired for that coca paste
- bear in mind your waistline will soon enough waste away to the shape thats admired
you see - if the aforementioned steps are heeded
- there is no need to eat a feed of a 200gm bar of chocolate a night laugh
