Every little bit helps .........I just found this while reading the news .......thought it may interest some of you .........

What you can do:

Just under half of personal emissions come from things under individuals' control, the United Nations said.

It recommends the following for anyone keen to shrink their carbon footprint.

Wake up with a traditional wind-up alarm clock, not an electronic one: save almost 48g of carbon dioxide (CO²) each day.

Brush with a non-electric toothbrush: avoid nearly 48g of CO² emissions.

Replace a 45-minute workout on a treadmill with a jog in a nearby park: save nearly one kilogram of carbon.

Heat bread rolls in a toaster, not an oven, for 15 minutes: save nearly 170g of CO².

Take the train rather than the car to the office: a distance of as little as eight kilometres can save 1.7kg of CO².

Shut down your computer and flat screen during the lunch break and when you leave work: this cuts CO² emissions generated by these appliances by one-third.

Install a water-saving shower head. This will save 10l of water per minute and halve CO² emissions of a three-minute hot shower.

Switch from regular 60-Watt light bulbs to energy-saving compact fluorescent lamps.

Dry clothes on a washing line instead of a tumble dryer: knock 2.3kg of CO² off your total.

Pack a light suitcase: world savings of two million tons of CO² a year are possible if every airline passenger cuts their baggage to below 20kg and buys duty free goods on arrival.

OMG!

Are we allowed to make a little fire in a cave were we are to return to grill the only thing we may find in our traps in the [urban] jungles, a rat?

Get a life. Get solar panels and enjoy living in 21st century, this way you reduce your print much more still using your TVs, PCs, coffee/icemakers, wine chillers, whatever. Why have not you mentioned to boycott vibrators for God's sake? Just go out and have wild unprotected natural...

Good morning everyone. Stop whining, just live. And enjoy it.

Solar panels are not as simple as people like to believe ... the power has to be stored in batteries, and some learned folk are saying that these batteries are a major source of pollution. Any form of electricity storage causes pollution.

Anyway, I agree with you ... Who Realy Cares? Live your life and to hell with the consequences...... One day we may just be reduced to grilling that rat, with a few cockroaches for starters!.. and then we can look back in time .. and reminisce.......cheers

They might have exhaled quite a bit of CO2laugh
I dry my Clothes on the line.
Don't use the Device(Electric) to dry them quicker!
Use Public Trans most of the time.
However there is a growing body of evidence that there are other significant Factors involved in the Climate-change OTHER than Human Influence. If more Evidence of this sort shows up,OWL GORE and the UN are going soo to be the only ones on that Bandwagon.
And Al gore has to start to Walk the Walk, instead to just Talk the Talk
Some Scientists are going so far as to claim that much of the evidence collected is flawed!
In the Seventies the same Factors cited to cause Global Warming, were supposed to cause another Ice-Age.
It is significant that the Term Global Warming suddenly has been changed to Climate-Change,that way they can have the Cake and eat it too.
However I am saying that we ought to take care of this Planet as best as possible.
IT IS THE ONLY ONE WE HAVE GOT
peace wink wave
