breezee: Another quote for all you bachelors and bachelorettes out there....

"Perhaps it is true that we do not really exist until there is someone there to see us existing, we cannot properly speak until there is someone there who can understand what we are saying, in essence, we are not wholly alive until we are loved."

Ahhhhhhhhh! But many ARE loved, very much so ..... by parents, sibblings, children, grandchildren and friends of course ... many of who ARE able to understand "what we are saying" and to "see us existing" and love and accept us as we are ... BUT none of them are quite the same as "being loved and accepted as we are by "THE SOMEONE"

Lagoona22: That's beautiful...so romantic...

..I agree that to be in love, one has to suspend one's analytical mind for a moment, and give in to the irrational, because infatuation is irrational...
but what's the message??...Love is worth it at any price??...

...if life is not worth living without romantic love, then I would agree with the gist and thrust of the quote...

...but imagine knowing you're wrong, and being in love??....

...doesn't that make love impossible??...or at least compromise love enough to downgrade it to a lesser beast?

Ahhh, I could write a book about it…professor When you’re in love, but still get to keep even the slightest trace of sanity, enough to realize the one you love is everything BUT right for you, you’re absolutely pathetic. And yes, I’m among the proud champions of this league.stuck
I mean, if the guy is nice, loving, caring, self – confident AND I fancy him, I’m like “ hmmm …maybe he’s not what I’m looking for”.
On the other hand, if he’s emotionally immature, kinda confused and his life is already too much complicated, I’m ready to clean, wash, cook for him (you know, all of these activities I’m no good at, but hey, love is worth it at any price, right?daydream ). Did I mention what happens if I see any sign of rejection? smitten Don’t think so, but let’s not get into that…tmi
So you guys, back there, in the audience, got it? If you’re quite OK, have no serious issue and, generally speaking, you’re pretty content with your life, don’t bother, ‘cause I don’t like you already! snooty
Much more than that, if you happen to like me…well, one word I have for you: DOOMSDAY .comfort

Hi, Mariposa!hug

rusty_knight: I agree....... and if a woman isn't easy to feel you shouldn't bother trying to feel her - no, that sounds awful!

That brings out a mixed message. Love shouldn't be 'easy' - gives off the wrong sort of vibes, but I get your drift.

Love should be wonderful and natural, love doesn't have to be all huge sacrifice and angst, BUT when the going gets tough love should STILL be there........... with that warm glow of happiness of being together to face whatever challenges life has thrown at the two of you.

I agree, though, that once people are struggling in their relationships it seems that something is missing, and if it's love that is missing then it ain't easy!

Many, many people love each other though and have problems - they need to listen to your song and realise that if you DO love each other it can be 'easy' cos you have the most important thing - that love for each other that 'things' cannot destroy - right?

Yes Rustyroll eyes

But i have a friend who is always behaving badly and she says: "you have to accept they way i am"...knowing her, i think she got the wrong conception of that sentence...

We can't not make efforts of being pleasant to test people's limits...it like you feel that the world revolves around you...not you Rusty

Okay, this one's for Elley.....

"In the oasis complex, a thirsty man imagines he sees water, palm trees and shade not because he has evidence for the belief, but because he has a need for it. Desperate needs bring about a hallucination of their solution: thirst hallucinates water, the need for love hallucinates a prince or princess. The oasis complex is never a complete delusion: the man in the desert does see something on the horizon. It is just that the palms have withered, the well is dry and the place is infected with locusts."

If anyone else has read this and is now regretting it - not my fault!! I did say it was for Elley. He was the only one I could think of on CS who could relate to/understand/take it conversing innocent sigh wine

laugh Me thinks Elley is defo not the only one who can relate ... I have this feeling that "the oasis complex" is far more common than anyone would care to admit (at least at some time of someone's life)

Oh, I agree 100%....if I feel devoid of love I fancy anything in a skirt as long as it's not a kilt!

The only problem with the oasis and the dying of thirst thingy, is you crawl to the edge of the water only to find that the last camel standing drank the last drop just before you got there!

Lord, how I hate camels! I hate the insolent way they look at you while they chew the cud. I could never love a camel. They are so damn ugly.

You know some women are like camels too - they give me the hump! :(

Well, looks like Mr Bottom is not enough for you, Rusty, dear cyber friend!! wave

So I'm pulling out U2:

"Did I disappoint you or leave a bad taste in your mouth?
You act like you've never had love and you want me to go without....
Well, it's too late tonight, to drag the past out into the light.
We're one but we're not the same.
Yeah, we hurt each other, then we do it again....

One love, one blood, one life you got to do what you should....
One life with each other.... sisters, brothers....
One life but we're not the same,
We get to carry each other.... carry each other.... one...."

Now ENOUGH of this silliness!!!
We're ALL just human.... and guess what??
Sh!t happens!!!!
NONE of us is perfect, we've ALL hurt someone, we stumble through life for good or bad and at the end of it we ALL get to f*cking die!! Okay?? Better now.....? sigh sigh
