rusty_knight: I NEVER travel first class - I am way too mean to 'waste' my money in such a manner...... I dislike travelling by public transport, but if it's only for a few hours I can 'grin and bear it'!
I guess it's different if somebody else is paying (maybe the little waifs Mummy's and Daddy's are paying for you to go first class) - still an awful 'waste' of money..... I'm being very careful at the moment budgeting for important things like new windows in the villa and 'things' for my mother - I'm grateful I can afford to fly and see my partner six times a year, but flying first class would be a ridiculous extra expense that I couldn't justify to myself let alone anybody else.
Corporate business expenditure on travel and luxury accommodation is something somebody has to pay for........... and has had bad press lately (e.g. executive jaunts for banking officials paid for by the shareholders or poorly-served clients).
In economic times like these I don't think it's the best policy to brag about one's 'first class' status - remember the dear little waifs parents could be bankers and clever financial derivative types who'd be ripe for the guillotine in days gone by!
Just my opinion, but I am sure we still all love the 'first class' Mother Sommer Teresa!
Actually Rusty, as you are really pissed off now.
Why are you complaining?
Lets unwrap this a little. You see when you begin a battle you should make sure your arsenal is full...
First statement. I do travel on public transport, often. Because I enjoy it. Have you been on a train in Austria? You see, I travel alot on trains, it takes the stress out for me, so travelling first class is something I enjoy, so if I am on a long journey, I will, because it is relatively inexpensive here. As for small journeys? Like from my apartment, to work, I do not, you see I travel with, how did you put it? Oh yes, 'commoners' Your words not mine.
You know, you had no facts, we are going on coaches, yep all the way to Geneva, on our trip, lovely kids, I call them 'waifs' and I mean that in a loving way. Children who I have in my care, that I care lovingly about.
What the hell has Corporate expenses to do with me? Nothing.
You know, my dear, I see a bitter man who is unhappy, a tad, because he is saddled with his elderly mother.
Oh and as for the trip, it is my job, Rusty, one that I have worked hard for, so I take great umbridge at your rather unlevelled attacks...
Your financial situation is not my concern, at all, you post alot about it. Yours that is.
The economic climate is a worry, yes, but it does not affect me, I have nothing to lose and if I want to spend my hard earned on travelling in comfort, then that is up to me.
Oh and as for slumming with the 'commoners' Rusty, as you called people, not me, believe you me, you want a sorry story, I have plenty...
So make sure your arsenal is fully stocked, because the next time you attack me, I will take it to private mail and rest assured my dear, I will not be pleasant.
Now you enjoy your mother, let her enjoy her twilight years in peace.
Stop being a bitter old twisted individual, hug your mother. Because darling, you have one...
If I did, I would do everything I could to ensure she was well taken care of, not shouting about how I was stuck with her and how life is so crap...
Take your attacks Rusty to private email, not here, it is not pleasant to read, nor is it attractive.
One last thing, I work my ass off, to pay for my children, my home and a few train rides and treat people with respect...
I am no victim, you want to compare hells and what we have both had to endure with pain, poverty, hardship and bruised souls.
Try me.
Here or privately.
Your call darling, and if you are not completely devoid of any intelligence, you will know which one to make.
