About me:

I thrive on intelligent conversation that conjures laughter as much as substance. I'm passionate about movies and enjoy lively discussions about them. World affairs are also of interest. When not in my head, I also love dancing (it's darn close to heaven), taking walks, trying things I've not done before, long drives in the country, singing, listening to music (especially live), and finding something to be silly about. I want to play.

Simplicity gets high marks, as does integrity. I value the art of being in a world obsessed with doing. I realize that life is a circular journey, not a linear one. I prefer focusing on what works rather than what doesn't. Kindness, compassion and tolerance are traits I look for in others, as I try to practice these characteristics in my own life. However, I remain very human with the times I need to pick myself up and start over when I discover I've failed. When push comes to shove, I want to remember to laugh at myself, reminded not to take this life too seriously. There's so much to enjoy. My intention is to do just that.

I'm looking for:

I'd like to spend time with people comfortable in their own skin, people that say what they mean and mean what they say, people that let laughter sneak in with little provocation. I'm drawn to those that don't feel a need to apologize for their age, or mention how "young" they are versus their chronological years. I'm interested in folks that don't respond to a query about who they are with a verbal resume of their external accomplishments...there's way more to a person than that. I desire relationships where both parties are mutually interested in each other's day-to-day life. No baggage (who among us has none?) is not as important as awareness of it, not allowing it in the front seat too often. Friendship is the foundation of any successful relationship, and I'm interested in those that understand what that means. The ability to communicate clearly is essential. I tend to be straightforward and want the same in return. And while someone doesn't have to be vying for a Pulitzer Prize, being able to write in complete sentences, knowing whether or not a dictionary might be necessary, are traits I also look for. And, oh yeah...an authentic smile the lion's share of the time lets me know whether someone is happy more often than not.
