About me and who I'm looking for

About me:: Hello, I am a graduate student in medical research. I like to hike, swim, read, spend time with friends, go to movies, etc. I tend to think I'm a pretty well rounded, down to earth guy. I like going out to do things and I live a fairly active lifestyle but I am more than happy to just hang out at home sometimes too. For the most part I would say I'm pretty laid back. I generally tend to not get too wrapped up in things so I don't tend to get angry easily. I live my life with a desire to simply live it the best I can and be happy, although I would like to have someone to share it with. I'm pretty new to relationships because I never really felt like I was ready for them in the past but as I have gotten a little older I feel I am more prepared for starting something. I am not perfect and have my faults as much as anyone but I am willing to work on those faults for the right person. Anyways, if you want to know more please feel free to ask.
I'm looking for:: I try to stay open minded about who I end up with but there are definitely some things that I look for in a fulfilling relationship. As a scientist, I do feel the need for some intellectual stimulation in a relationship since it is a significant part of my life. Therefore, I am looking for someone who is well educated and driven to accomplish something valuable in her life but will not neglect others for the sake of achieving those goals. This is not to say I want to talk about science all day long (in honesty I get enough of that from my career) but I have always had better connections to people who are knowledgeable and well educated. I hate smoking because I have asthma and think it is a disgusting habit and I also am not interested in someone who drinks to excess. I'm looking for a mature, adult relationship with open communication and honesty and I am willing to do my part to maintain that kind of relationship.
