I'm an attorney with U.S. Customs & Border Protection. I'm proud to defend the men and women who defend our borders.
I dislike egoists, pretentiousness, people who take themselves too seriously, and people who indulge in self-pity. I'm big on personal responsibility; my political views can best be described as libertarian.
I enjoy fast, sharp, irreverent comedy, and like spending time with people who laugh. I like weird genres of music, like jazz, salsa, pipe organ, and vocal trance. I've been sober about six years. AA is a major part of my life. I really am living on borrowed time now, given the stupid shit I did when I was younger. That being said, I regret nothing. As our 'Big Book' says, "We will not regret the past, nor wish to shut the door on it." I like to add, however, "nor do we wish to repeat it...."
I'm very opinionated, but I only occasionally voice those opinions. I've learned I'm not always right, anyway. Sometimes I don't even know what's best for myself.
Although I reject a few key social conventions, I generally enjoy others' company. I can't stand people who cannot use proper grammar or spell correctly. Everyone should read Strunk & White's The Elements of Style. I look for humility in people I meet. That doesn't necessarily mean I'm good at practicing it myself. I believe diplomacy and humility are two of the greatest traits an individual can possess. Right thought follows right action -- not the other way around, as conventional wisdom would have you believe. The secret to a successful, fulfilling life is to be of maximum service to God and those around you. I'll answer any question you may have, regardless of its propriety. My life's an open book, and I am flattered whenever somebody wants to read a page.

I'm looking for:

I'm new to the area and looking for interesting people to meet. So far most of my free time has been spent getting the condo into a presentable state, and I'm anxious to show it off. I've also been going out to a few of the clubs on Cincinnati and Mesa with friends and coworkers on the weekend to try and get to know them better, and meet new people. Kinda finding that scene a little lacking, though.
