Happy New Year!!

About me:: A self-confessed tape gun incompetent, I am known to friends by many endearing monikers - including Chickadee, Peanut, Half Pint, and Shorty. I am a person who believes life is short(no pun intended) - and am willing to try new activities, and explore new environments. I have tried my hand at sheepherding, skydiving, whitewater rafting, cliff climbing and solo backpacking in the mountains in the winter. I love the outdoors, backpacking, canoeing (have my own), etc, and find happiness and joy in all I do. Family, faith and giving back to community are important to me - and must be to anyone who thinks he might be compatible. Family is the safe coccoon of unconditional acceptance, faith sustains us through difficult times, and volunteering allows me to feel good about helping those less fortunate. I am *not* lonely in love, and feel loved by all I have met, but just haven't met the right special someone yet.
I'm looking for:: My ideal match will share similar values and interests, and be willing to experience all that life has to offer - and not willing to settle because it is easier. I've been close to marriage twice, but it just wasn't right - and although the decision to not go that avenue were heartbreaking at the time, I felt strong enough in my convictions to know that I wanted to be certain.
