About me and who I'm looking for

About me:: I can’t believe that I can be so nervous about writing a few paragraphs. I understand that first impressions mean a lot in this business so here goes…

I am a 5’11” black male with a medium build (220 lbs) and broad shoulders. I am a very hands-on person, very sensual and affectionate. I have an 11 year old son (his mom lives out of state and encouraged me to do this) who lives with me during the school year. I am a hopeless romantic and believe that communication, trust and understanding are the basis for any long lasting relationship. I live in a beautiful neighborhood near Naples and often go cycling down to Newport Beach to check out the sunrise as it illuminates the ocean in the morning. Yes, I am a beach bum and love anything beach related. I am also somewhat of a home body. Last year I sold my car, quit my job and retired in June. Worked out great until September when my AIG annuity lost 60% of its value. I am now starting my own business and am pushing my retirement back a few more years. I am also taking the time to find a soul mate while my schedule is still pretty flexible. I promised myself that I would do this before I replenished my savings so that the woman who I finally found would be there because of me and not how much my accounts held. Do you think that it is a stupid way of thinking?

My musical taste runs from John Mayer to the Beatles with a few jazz licks thrown in for fun. I like Alternative, Pop, Jazz, Classical, Rock, Metal, R&B, Motown, and Folk music but I can’t stand gangster rap. I hate the connotations it makes about women and the lifestyle it promotes. I don’t watch much TV but could be enticed to cuddle with the right person through just about anything. I read a lot of SiFi and Fantasy (although lately all I read are business related materials) and love libraries and book stores. I am a big fan of hometown coffee shops that allow you to bring a book and sit for a while.

My Interests
