About me:

First off, my name is Derrick, (I hate it when people don't properly introduce themselves)! I'm a fairly articulate, well-rounded male in his mid twenty's who considers himself to be a pretty easygoing guy, who values his intelligence and morals. I've packed quite a lifetime of experience into a relatively short period of time on this planet and I'd like to think of myself as a bit of an "Old Soul"...if you believe in that sort of thing.

As I stated before, Intelligence is kind of a big deal. If you don't posses the ability to carry on an articulate, or mentally stimulating conversation, you should probably go back to the search list and keep on scrolling.... To be honest, I'm just looking for someone ready to settle down with a good solid man, (Who has a good job by the way)... Someone who has reached that point in their lives where they understand the balance between being responsible and yet maintaining a healthy social life! Someone who wants to get treated with the respect and dignity that they deserve. And while I'm not looking to be anyone's Sugar Daddy, I do take good care of those close to me and I expect nothing less than a fair, honest and equal relationship right back.

And just so you know, I’m a very socially and environmentally conscience individual, who tries his best, at the very least, to be a good human. I spent the early part of my college years as a Chef for a restaurant that catered to the Vegan and Vegetarian lifestyle so I love to cook! I love to experiment in the kitchen and I know how to entice one's pallet as well as their mind!

So for those of you who have managed to make it all the way through that, congratulations! There's still plenty more to learn if your interested, but you'll have to find out over a nice cup of coffee somewhere.

As far as dating goes, I guess I'm just tired of meeting the same kind of women out at the bars or getting fixed up by friends who, though full of great intentions, seem to have a difficult time understanding what it is I'm looking for in a woman...

When it comes to the opposite sex, Apparently I'm a little picky...not necessarily the best of traits considering I've succumbed to the whole online thing... But what the heck, you've got to have standards right! And for me, those standards basically translate to someone who has a strong, self confident spirit with solid morals. Intelligence and a genuine thirst for knowledge is a must! Someone who is goal oriented and has their life together! I've dated way too many women who seem to have everything just dandy on the outside but turn out to be a total mess once you get to know them. Not to say that everyone doesn't have a little baggage, I mean, I'd be lying if I claimed to be "carry on" free, but really, it would be nice to find someone who's not scrambling to superglue together the pieces of their life. I'm sure some of you out there can relate.
