About me:

I'm more at home in a coffee shop or hotel than a pub and haven't been to a night club for twenty years. I think deeply - and read very slowly - so don't expect me not to have an opinion on everything but that doesn't mean I don't value yours; on the other hand if you make a virtue out of not having an opinion on anything we wouldn't get along.

Been living on the Kilkenny/Wexford border for more than six years but I'm from England which means about half of what I say isn't meant to be taken literally. Of course we instinctively know which half but I'm beginning to realise that it doesn't always come across well by email...

My son is very important to me; where I go, he goes (er, well not quite everywhere but you know what I mean). He goes between myself and his mother at his own request because that's the best thing for him.

If you have expectations of how a man should be - dare I say prejudices - I may or may not conform. I don't like beer, have no interest in sport, I wash, cook, clean and shop, I can sow a button back on and I don't care whether my car is bigger, faster or makes more noise than anyone else's. On the other hand I like short skirts, stockings and the smell of perfume and I do care whether my car gets me and the boy to Tesco and back because that's where they keep the Cadburies chocolate.

The things that make me laugh most are usually when people don't actually mean to be funny like the time I saw a man in a pub stumble on the edge of a carpet, stagger back and forth for a good twenty seconds, nearly recovering several times before finally tipping his pint into somebody's lap (cruel ? Hey they got over it...)

I'm looking for:

A woman who read this far without losing concentration.
A woman who is honest and critical.
A woman more compassionate than competitive.
A woman who at least thinks outside the box but preferably doesn't even acknowledge that the box exists.
A woman who despises greed and corruption.
A woman who doesn't think that "I like to laugh" is an adequate description of themselves as a unique human being.
A woman who sees more than the tabloids tell her is there.
A woman who can reconcile being feminine with being equal.
