About me:

First of all, I’m totally blind. Should get that out of the way.

I'm fascinated with pythons and cheetahs and am a strong believer in the value and importance of literacy. I enjoy stories of all kinds, but especially folklore, mythology, fantasy, fluff, and drama. I like watching plays, especially musicals. I love cute, feel-good cartoons. I hate intolerance and censorship, even if I don't necessarily agree with what's being said or believed. I think it's paramount that everyone should be able to express themselves in their own way so long as I can avoid what I personally find distasteful or offensive.

I'm idealistic and place a high value on intelligence. I fear confrontation and am more apt to write letters if I have a problem with you than to talk it out. I just really dislike face-to-face tension, unless I'm too angry to care, which is very rare. I'm very much a home body; if I go out, it's generally to a restaurant or to watch a movie. In short, I'm not physical at all.

I would say I'm mellow, relaxed, pretty content, and easygoing most of the time. I can have a rather explosive temper and a tendency to nag, but that's only if you get on my bad side. That side is generally well-controlled, but smokers should steer clear.

I like sappy love songs. Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Celine Dion, and Simon and Garfunkel are some of my favorite singers.

My favorite books to date are Little Women and Life of Pi. Favorite storybook characters include Severus Snape from the Harry Potter series, Templeton from Charlotte's Web, Hector from The Iliad, and Nadir Khan from Susan Kay's Phantom.

Some examples of movies I've enjoyed are Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Stranger Than Fiction, and The Joy Luck Club. The Joy Luck Club is one of the only movies that makes me cry without fail.

I love the Macaroni Grill and the Tropical Smoothie Cafe.

I enjoy interactive fiction, intelligent conversation, sleep, and reading.

I'm looking for:

It's easier to come up with what I don't like, and I honestly haven't experienced too many people to be able to say much on this subject. However, I've found that I value compromise, communication, and an ability to talk openly about feelings. I want to be able to talk through my own turmoil and be able to count on someone to be supportive. I like compassion, and a touch of sarcasm wouldn't go amiss, either, so long as it's tempered with maturity. Sarcasm for its own sake is just plain mean, but there are cases where it's quite deserved and very much appreciated in the sense that I find it humorous and sexy. Love for animals is a must, and someone who likes fantasy or has read enough to recommend fiction would be nice. I'd like someone who respects their family but doesn't let them control him. I'd like someone who can control their emotions and wouldn't mind staying home. I don't know much about politics, but I seem to have more liberal leanings, so I'd like someone like that.
