About me: ahh, computer dating...I remember what computer dating meant in the 70's, from an old Love American Style episode. You walk into the office, they take all your particulars and put it on punch cards, and out spits the perfect mate. (of course, in the show, the perfect mate is always the person tabulating the cards). I am trying not to become discouraged with this online stuff, but I have been on here almost an hour and haven't met my perfect match yet! How did it get to this? Where are my punch cards? Did I punch some wrong holes or something? And where is the cute girl with the Bouffant hairdo, patent-leather boots, and the librarian glasses doing the tabulating? We shouldn't need to meet here. We should have met in school like George Bailey met Mary, or like Andy Rooney met Judy Garland. Ahh, but they had no internet and no POF in "It's a Wonderful Life", or for sure evil Mr. Potter would have dealt fake credit scams and Andy and Judy would be putting on a show on Youtube. Their loss, huh?

So why are we here on Connecting Singles? Maybe we can see more people in a shorter span of time? You are wonderful, I know that, but if you don't write me or can't get past my bad ski jacket, how will I ever convince you to be my princess? And if you haven't met your prince yet, maybe waiting a minute or two before clicking "back" would make all the difference.

I have a great career, I am gregarious around complete strangers, I am intelligent (or at least I can fake it really well). I am usually witty, charming and entertaining enough, articulate (in German, English and others) and generally a ball of energy and fun to be around. So, Schätzl, why haven't we met yet?

I enjoy a good movie or video (and I make the best popcorn), but I am rarely a couch potato. I have moods where I feel like sitting around, but they are short, especially if I am alone. I will get bored enough to get out. I will at least drag myself to the boardwalk or the gym rather than stay home.

I'm looking for: I am an Air Traffic Controller, and it is a 20-year retirement job (like cop or fireman) and I can retire...well, maybe I can retire, but I am not ready to earn half pay to sit home and watch Love, American Style (is that even on?), but I am always keeping my eyes open for a retirement job that looks meaningful and interesting. If you are curious, and since you have read this far, my screen name Fluglotse means Air Traffic Controller in German.

I tried various jobs in entertainment before my current aviation “gig” (but that was 20 years ago). I was a professional magician, and I was relatively successful at it. I also did stand up comedy (not NEARLY as successful, but I can be quite funny). I like to ski and I ride a motorcycle. I used to skydive, but I haven't jumped in several years (however if you are a skydiver I suppose I would go with you). I like learning and speaking languages (My strongest after English is German). I have had the pleasure filling in as an guest English teacher a day here and there in Austria, and I have done limited work interpreting.

I would really like to spend some time abroad, preferably in Europe. When I was there, I was impressed with how the people would fly an hour to Paris on a Saturday morning, spend the day, and come back at night or the next day. From Austria to Athens, Paris, London, Moscow, Madrid or Rome was under $50 and a wonderful idea for that bored Saturday around the house. I think it might even be better than fighting traffic at the Mall! Naaaah. But maybe a close second. I can retire in 3 months(Air Traffic is a 20 or 25 year job in the USA). Who will I lavish my attention upon?
