About me and who I'm looking for

About me:: I enjoy my current single life, but I'd rather share it with someone special. Who wouldn't?

I settled here in Northern VA about 5 years ago. Prior to that, I spent 10 years roaming around the world with the Navy and have seen a good chunk of the world. I’ve enjoyed learning about the cultures that I’ve had the opportunity to be exposed to.

I’m a techie, geek, name your cliche. I’m fascinated by all kinds of technology from the everyday (toasters) to the outrageous (quantum string theory) although I do tend to surround myself with simple, comfortable things.

I enjoy bike riding, golf, swimming and most other “physical” activities to the point of being proficient but not to a level that I could be called athletic. I go to the gym but I’ll never be svelte.

I’m honest enough to have gotten myself into trouble because of it many times. It’s just easier to be truthful. I do temper my honesty with kindness. Many people desire “brutal” honesty. That’s not my style.

Of course, there’s more to a person than anyone can put in one of these essays but I hope to have given you at least a glimpse.

In summary, if your looking for someone that will go jogging with you up Mount Fuji, I’ll tell you that you’re crazy (honesty) and I’ll meet you at the top with a helicopter (techie) but I’ll race you back down on my mountain bike (it’s MUCH easier going downhill).

Actually, I'm looking for the basics. Someone that I like to be with and who likes to be with me. From those humble beginnings, amazing things may happen.
