About me: Moving back to Brisbane in a couple of weeks, so thought I'd have a go at this...
I'm a creative, quirky, artistic person who may come across as cynical sometimes, and a self-confessed geek who actually loves being around people ... most of the time. To add to the geekiness, I play flute (and I must point out I never went to band camp, so there =P) and organ/piano, and I'm in a university-based choir.
I also write and read (mostly fantasy, sci-fi and mythological, and probably too much, heh), as well as painting (acrylics, don't have the patience - or desire to inhale turps fumes all day - to learn oils) and drawing (mostly random people and characters along with cartoon versions of friends). Love my computer games too. Other hobbies outside the geekiness include exploring the point of getting myself lost (so long as it's really late, it's a lot of fun trying to figure out how to get home ... wait, that sounds pretty geeky, oops =D), and when I get the chance camping, bush-walking, and other such activities are also enjoyable.
Usually I'm a friendly, cheerful person but I can be a little reserved at times, observing as opposed to being right in the action; I usually have the happy knack of getting along with just about anyone, once I feel comfortable in the setting. Now I'm in a full-time job it's generally out of the house from 7:00am to around 5:30pm, and otherwise free time. There's some good to be said of being responsible ...
Having been bought up with big band to the Bee Gees and right through to some absolutely shocking 70s rock, I love almost all music (the exception being rap/hip hop, I personally don't think that genre can be classed as music but whatever floats your boat), though I generally listen to rock/alternative/metal/punk. As for movies/TV, again I have pretty diverse taste; senseless comedies to certain horror flicks to documentaries and the similar mockumentaries, it's all good in moderation.
I'm looking for: I'm looking for a guy or girl with some similar interests (a few differences make things interesting, no?), who can carry an intelligent conversation yet can also laugh at themselves. I also value trust and respect in all relationships, and I'd hope that you do as well. I generally go for guys/girls who are close to my height or taller, and of a slim build to a cuddly build, but if the personality clicks it doesn't matter so much. The one thing I definitely prefer is that they be between 20 - 35. While it says I'm here for dating, friends in general are also on my agenda, and ultimately a long-term relationship (though that can wait a while yet, hehe) =]
