About me and who I'm looking for

About me:

I am the child of two very creative and unconventionally-inclined parents who felt that it was important for me to travel and study and consider the entire world my home. Their dream came true. I am all of that and more. I have lived, traveled, and studied in Europe, Africa, South America, Central America, the West Indies, and Bermuda. My friends (many of whom I've known for decades) are all over the world. I speak fluent Spanish and can speak some French, a little bit of Italian, and communicate pretty well with Portuguese speakers. I have one grown daughter and two grandchildren, all of whom are fabulous, of course! Currently I live in Southern California and work as an academic librarian - I have worked at the same place for more than 16 years although I could leave it in a heartbeat if the opportunity arose to go elsewhere.

My interests and passions include: travel (which I do whenever I can) knitting and designing, reading (history, historical fiction, sci fi, fantasy, the classics, and lots more). I collect children's books, some vintage, I am very interested in astrology, the tarot, runes, and many other occult studies. I am also interested in crystal and gemstone healing. Mustn't forget movies. I am a huge movie fan! I am interested in almost everything except most sports although I am a very dedicated yoga practitioner.

I'm looking for:

I am flexible and don't have a fixed idea of the characteristics my ideal match would have. A global and inclusive attitude about humanity along with a certain amount of sophistication (attitude-wise) would be highly desireable, of course. A love of travel to match my own would be marvelous. And a sense if humor is required! I would also want him to be able to appreciate and understand my need to create. If he is creative, too, so much the better. A good education, formal or informal, is essential. Of course he would have to want me!
