About me and who I'm looking for

About me:: My name is Mandolin Hooper and I am a Sinatraholic ("Hi, Mandolin...").

There are really 5 things that I live for:
1. Frank Sinatra/Dean Martin - I have many idols and heroes (Jack N., Q. Tarantino, Mickey Rourke, Mr. Big), but they don't touch Dino and the Chairman.
2. Film - classics, not crap. Casablanca, Godfather, Butch Cassidy, Straw Dogs, Res. Dogs, Barfly, The Wrestler, Rev. Road, Annie Hall, Raging Bull, Goodfellas...the list goes on and on and on and on.
3. Humor - primarily sarcasm. Dry humor is the best. I can make Dennis Miller look like a cream puff.
4. Hollywood - not the city, but Hollywood as an ideal, as a state of mind, as the word "grandeur" itself.
5. Sex and the City/Friends - my cocaine and heroin. I also love The Sopranos, Lost, and Monk. But I could watch SATC for hours on end.

I'm a classy fella, a guy looking for a doll, Frank looking for Ava, Dean looking for Jeanne.

I'm a filmmaker (screenwriter/ director/ producer/ editor), a bit of an actor, piano player, dancer, guitar player, singer/songwriter, romantic (SERIOUS romantic), etc. I'll smoke the occasional cigar, I'll only drink if I have a reason ("reason" being a purposefully broad term). I wear a suit everyday for many reasons (if you look good, you feel good).

Democrat, atheist. I not so concerned with being a liberal as I am with not being a conservative.

I really do have a great sense of humor, though I know I'm not too great at conveying that in the world of typed personal bios.

I like to think I'm as suave and charming as they come, and I'm a little egomaniacal as well. :) I can't stand rap/pop, but I will go as far as ABBA (whom I love). I plan to move to NY (best city ever) after I grab my high school diploma & AA (I'm in that oh-so-convenient Running Start program). Then I'll wholeheartedly pursue a career in (somewhat) mainstream filmmaking.
