About me and who I'm looking for

About me:: I see life as something you do. Which is why I do everything with passion; I get one shot at life in this mortal body of mine, so I'm shooting for the fence: making my time here count for something. I choose carefully what I do with my time, filtering out distractions, keeping my focus on the few things that matter to me.

Maybe one of those things is you. If you like being with a 9-to-5 desk jockey, we're not likely a match. I'm no daredevil, but I dare to pursue worthy dreams. If your spirit is adventurous enough for that … if you've got wit, wisdom, energy, and self-confidence … if your smile is easy, genuine, and contagious … if your outward beauty is a reflection of your inner beauty--a warm heart and a gentle soul--then I'd like to get to know you. My heroes: Glenn Beck, John Galt, John Adams, and Jame Dobson. Think about that before you favorite me. In my solo spare time: I enjoy long walks (while listening to audio books, NPR's A Way with Words, or This American Life), running around nearby Lake Balboa (while jamming to my favorite tunes), writing, hiking, and creating things in my woodworking shop. With friends: watching and then discussing movies, diving into a mentally stimulating conversation, going to a comedy club, dining, traveling, and taking on something that's new to the both of us.
I'm looking for:: A natural sense of humor -- at the least, that means you think i'm terribly funny. Okay, kidding. But I hope you can keep up -- maybe even challenge my sense of humor. Appearance matters to me: (a) i'm a guy; any guy who says he isn't drawn to beauty is being dishonest with you -- it's biological hardwiring. (b) your appearance, I feel, is a reflection of your self-confidence … or lack of it. Thus, a strong self image is important to me as well. See, I'm no shrink, so I'm not looking for a woman who wants me to rescue her. I can be a hero, but I'm not a relationship paramedic. But if you're comfortable with yourself as a whole person--able to be a partner in this great adventure called life--then I'd like to find out more about you. And, hey, if the sight of you takes my breath away, that's all right too. ;-)
