About me and who I'm looking for

About me:

I have been told by others, that I am a fairly level-headed bloke, intelligent, sensitive, with a great sense of wit; truthful and straight-forward, but tactful and respectful. I've also been called aloof at times - not exactly a glowing recommendation, but it's part of who I am; and I love the simpler things in life. I enjoy my property out in the boonies and like to work the general day-to-day efforts that keep it cozy. I have a country-boy mentality which means I like the peace and quiet of the country, and all the scents and sounds that it entails. I enjoy the basics in life, but can easily take on the complexities that are inherent in today's society. I'm, by my nature, a technology-savvy person, but am in constant awe of the natural world. I enjoy getting dressed up, but find suits uncomfortable, and stiff. Blue jeans and a cotton shirt are my trademarks. I enjoy going to a good stage show be it a play, a concert (loved STOMP!), or a movie... I like to read, watch movies at home (I have a BA in Film so I really like movies), hike, camp (real camping with a tent and miles and miles of forest between me and the nearest human development, don't like campers), backpacking, computing and internet, I write stories (several screenplays and a novel, so far), and cooking.

I work as a graphic designer when there's clients... I bartend on occasion. My true calling is in the film industry; when I can find enough investors I will produce, write and direct my own motion picture.

My downsides to most I meet: I'm a diabetic, but I'm in good health. I'm not a spiritual person, but I'll respect your religious beliefs - those are personal. All I ask is that you respect my personal lack of belief.

I'm looking for:

Hopefully you would like to hike, backpack and camp without the use of a camper. Can you be as comfortable in sneakers, a baseball cap, and a pickup truck as you can high heals, an evening gown and a limo?

Intelligence, courage, honesty and trustworthiness, creativity, humor and sarcasm, and being happy (without medication) are traits that I truly prize in others.

I don't have children, but I would like to; although this isn't a prerequisite to a happy relationship, it's just been stated for consideration. If you have children already, that is fine with me; I love their optimism - it's contagious to me.

I'm just looking for someone who can be their own person - I always say that a relationship (marriage) is about 'living separate lives - together.' I'm seeking someone I can spend time with - maybe the rest of my life with...
