About me and who I'm looking for

About me:: I'm a graduate nurse from Drexel University with a BSN and will be pursuing my nursing license in the near future that will lead to a rewarding career of helping a lot of people and touching many lives.

My prior degree was in IST (also from Drexel) but after years of being a "computer guy", I became miserable and decided to do something more rewarding, which is why I chose nursing. I'm glad I chose to become a nurse because for the first time in my life I love coming to work because I know that I'll be helping a lot of people and hopefully making a difference.

I believe in peace, unity and equality and I hope the person I end up sharing my life w/ holds those same beliefs. That's important to me.

I love to travel and usually fly out to the west coast every year. I would like to venture out to other places, hopefully hitting Japan and Ireland before I die but this year I plan to go to Michigan and Denver.

I'm a pop culture junkie, I can cook pretty darn well, and I recently started working out and it feels great. I love playing video games and it would be a plus if there's a woman out there that can kick my butt in Guitar Hero, Mario Kart or Dance Dance Revolution.

My son Ashton passed away in early 2002 and I miss him dearly but I try my best to live the kind of life that he'd be proud of. He inspires me to be a good person and I hope I am, though I know I'm not perfect. And no, I'm not bothered by anyone asking me questions about him so if you have them, please don't be afraid to ask me.

I do talk a heck of a lot, maybe even too much and I sing really loud while I'm driving or when I'm playing Rock Band but yet have never tried karaoke.

I believe I have a great sense of humor and firmly believe laughter is the best medicine and I have an arsenal of bad jokes to share w/ anyone who wants to hear them.

Finally, I'm extremely passionate about the people in my life and the things that I'm into, sometimes too passionate but I have no regrets.
I'm looking for:: I'm looking for someone who is supportive, caring and understanding. To me, intelligence, spelling and grammar, wittiness and sarcasm are a big turn on. I would love to meet someone who will try new things w/ me like food or activities or travel to new destinations, someone who will see good as well as bad movies w/ me, someone who doesn't play games (unless they want to challenge me in Guitar Hero), doesn't create drama and someone who will ultimately become my best friend. I know that last line is a bit cliche but in the grand scheme of things, isn't that what we're all looking for in a mate?

My Interests

I love pop culture like movies, TV, music, comics, toys, video games, etc. I love Italian, Japanese and Mexican food but would pretty much try anything. I'm a huge fan of 80's music but I'm really into Indie rock. I enjoy going to shows, spending time w/ friends, discovering new food as well as making it, going to the movies, listening to music, traveling, trying to keep myself in shape or just relaxing on the couch after a long day of school and/or work.
