About me:

Hmmm... where to start? Well, I've just returned to Ireland after 4 years abroad to study Multimedia & Web Design, and it's strange that although I lived in Dublin for 10 years the place has this feeling of novelty about it for me. And I'm enjoying it. I feel like a tourist.

Music is my first obsession. For me, there’s nothing like the sound of a phat bass drum! I might be regarded as a bit of music freak/fascist by my close friends (they're just as bad, anyway) but life should have a soundtrack and only the best tunes should be on the playlist. Influences - off the top of my head - The Knife, dEUS, Billie Holiday, Bon Iver, Feist, Tom Waits, Lali Puna, Nick Cave, Beirut, Boards Of Canada. I don't play any instruments but I was heavily involved in music production and events promotions in a previous life...

Film is my second. One of my favourite places to be is in bed with a good movie. I'm a sucker for sci-fi, horror and old classics - like 'It Happened One Night' or 'All About Eve' and an even bigger sucker (embarrassingly) for quirky romantic movies like 'Amelie', 'Punch Drunk Love' or 'Closer' (although that last one I'm not sure is all that romantic.) Oh and I've a soft spot for anything Italian - Fellini, de Sica, Bertolucci, Giordana.

And Art would be my third - I love Galleries, Museums. I'm certainly no expert but I know what I like, it has to be creative, involving and evolving.

I've got a half decent camera and I do like to get out and take photos but I think I have lots of room for improvement in that area...

I have a large circle of friends here in Dublin, I love to be out and about, going to gigs or whatever but I'm shy at the best of times so quite inept at approaching women in a social context. That's why I'm here, I suppose...

I'm looking for:

Someone who enjoys the little things in life. A mentor and a muse. Someone with a bit of fight in them, who'll stand their ground. A music nut would be great, and an interest in the arts and theatre. I’m ambitious, but having someone around who’ll kick me up the ass once in a while to get me going would be wonderful. But I’d like to meet someone creative, you don’t have to be working in a creative industry, (you could be a gravedigger or a proctologist for all I care) but just someone who needs to vent their love & anger and face the world in a artistic way...

I’m quite an independent person and I’m used to my own personal space, but I’m also very passionate who is feeling a little lonely and wants to share the little pleasures in life with someone special. Am I a old romantic at heart who believes in finding his other half? Probably, but as I get older that cold external cynicism that protects me from the world starts to sink down deeper. Is it too late? I hope not...
