About me:

So first let me say this. My headline is an outstanding example of everything I am not: cliche, presumptuous, and arrogant.
I'm a very laid back, humble and unique individual. If you're looking for a trend setter, look elsewhere. I'm too unassuming for that...any trend I set is purely by accident and most likely a detriment to society. I have an odd sense of humor that can be a little difficult to notice at times...I'm dry and rarely witty except in very comfortable situations (see: drunk). I'm a shy and introspective person at first, though when I warm up people tend to find me very compassionate and loyal.
I read quite a bit with varied, wide-ranging tastes. I also have a deep love of music, and I play several instruments (to the woe of my neighbors). I don't really aspire to be a rock star or anything, but music is my anchor in life. If you manage to catch me at a rare moment in front of the TV, I'm probably watching History Channel or Discovery.
Paradox time: I'm an artistic geek. For all my love of literature and music and architecture and nature, the other side of my coin is that of a computer nerd, a video gamer and a Star Wars and anime fan.
I'm a Systems Administrator for a small ISP in Seattle, having fell in love with computers early in life. Along with my beloved novels you'll find stacks of comp science and reference books littering my shelves. I don't game very much anymore though I'll spend an hour or two on the weekends with my XBox. I'm an ex 'World of Warcraft' addict, which cured me of the gaming bug in a very substantial way. I keep a collection of various Anime on my computer that roughly equals a normal mans porn collection. (And you should see my porn collection!) I'll occasionally lose a day or two buried in program code or some new server I'm building. Eventually I'll resurface, find my guitar or a dusty tome and float back to the other side of my odd little fence.
Like I said, I'm decidedly not cliche.

I'm looking for:

First off, if you disappeared in a puff of smoke when I made the porn joke (and thus not even reading this anymore), keep moving. I may seem conservative as hell but when it comes to my sexuality I'm very open and I need a woman who can joke about that stuff. (But no, my porn collection is no bigger than any other single males.)
In seriousness, my ideal match would be a like-minded person who can understand my love of quiet solitude, yet is balanced enough to get me to break out of my shell a little. I'd love to meet a musician or songwriter of some sort, as music is a big part of my life. I need a friend, first and foremost. Someone to laugh with and have a good time with and share myself with. It's always been my opinion that true friendships come first in this type of thing. Though it's also always been my opinion that true friendships often defy explanation, which makes this description a little difficult to formulate.
A woman with goals is definitely a must. Someone with an eye on the future, but not an obsession. There shouldn't be a need to plan out every step of every day - just make sure you know where you want to stand at the end of the day, and where it will lead you in a month or a year. I've been fly-by-night my whole life and it's important to me to begin looking to the future, to the tomorrows and next years.
I know this all sounds picky, and I definitely know what I want from a woman in my life. But the truth is..
...if you can sing and have pretty eyes and a nice smile, I'm yours.
