I'm an old fashion romantic; I believe in the (what is now considered ancient) traditions of treating a lady like a lady. I like to open doors, pull out chairs and behave as a cavalier should. Don't get me wrong; I do have my "bad boy" side, too.
I have the philosophy that you can never go into a relationship too slowly if you want it to last, and having patience and understanding always pays off in the long run. I like to think of it like dinner....if you devour the dessert first, it may tastes fantastic, but later on you'll be starving again or worse you'll have an empty and upset stomache. If, on the other hand, over a period of time you enjoy a wonderfull three-course meal consisting of stimulating conversation, deep understanding and respect and mutual enjoyment, dessert turns into a wonderfull culmination. I'm well educated (I currently hold a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice). I'm a retired military veteran and currently working for the government. I'm a good conversationalist and an excellent listener. I like exercising ( I don't "live in the gym"),running/walking/jogging, cycling, rollerblading, or just soaking up the sun. I am a little absent-minded at times, but I always mean well. I love to laugh ( life in itself is serious enough already!). I enjoy animals ( I have two dogs and a ferret ), reading/writing poetry, and life in general. I live by the motto "It's not getting what you want; it's wanting what you've already got."
I am a very affectionate person as long as I feel it is being returned in kind. I am very trusting and open. I believe in upfront candor so as to eliminate any surprises. I will always give you an honest opinion,tempered with sensitivity.
