About me:

Hi, thanks for taking the time to read this. Let me tell you something about me. I like all my friends and e-pals, but I mostly desire a serious relationship upon which I can focus my full attention, and express my loving, caring, and affectionate personality.
I believe that romance, trust building, devotion, and open communication are all vital to a deep, meaningful, and strong relationship.

There are many facets to my personality, some of which are seemingly paradoxical. I am easy going, but not a pushover. Firm, but not controlling. I take charge, but I am suggestible. I'm humorous, without being overly comical. I'm courteous and tactful, but make myself understood. And I'm very loyal, but I know when to turn away.
A guy I supervised before I retired from the national guard once described me as "a cross between General Douglas McArthur and Austin Powers". I thought it was one of the greatest compliments that I'd ever received (sniff).

Hobbies and interests: I like most of the usual 'guy stuff', but you will never catch me sittin' around in my underwear with the guys, drinkin' beer and watching the NFL. No 'football widows' at my house! I'm not much of a spectator, but more of a participant.
That's why I like things like kayaking, karaoke, ham radio, archery, gardening, and photography.
I have a budding interest in astronomy that is growing beyond simply laying on a blanket, and gazing at the night sky [although that is pretty romantic =) ].
Travel is something that I enjoy a lot. I've been in all states but one, and plan on seeing them all again, preferably with good companionship.

I stay fit with running and weight training. In favorable weather, I ride bike a lot, whether it be a very casual ride along the bike trail, or tearing down the highway on my road bike. I love the feeling of freedom!

A few of my many goals are to improve my singing, maybe learn an instrument or two, take more dance lessons, and maybe do some overseas travel.

I'm looking for:

There are many types that could fit my picture of ideal, but most importantly she should share my relationship philosophy. See paragraph 1 above =).
Basic 'chemistry' is an intangible that is hard to describe, but you know it if it is there.
She should also enjoy some of the same things that I do, whether it's going out to do something, or just cuddling up at home. She need not be intimidated because I like to keep active.
Her looks or figure are not terribly important, and that's mostly in the eye and attitude of the beholder, anyway. I'm not too scared of a woman with kids.

In closing, I love my life, and cherish every moment. As Mr. Shakepierre might remark, "we strut and fret our hour upon the stage", and such a brief hour it is. I try to make every day an adventure of sorts.
