About me and who I'm looking for

About me:

I like being out(ward bound) when the weather permits, walking in the far-off and not-so-far-off hills, cycling and grubbing around in the garden for food which tastes of something. It's easy to lose touch with the outdoors in this climate, so you have to be imaginative when you’re in(ward bound). Flying around looking for foster-climates, getting high on ozone borrowed from my grandchildren, gives me cause for concern, though I dare say my world view could adapt to the prospect of a one-way flight to a warmer paradise. I would miss the exercise from gathering wood for the fire, though. I like to read about the cosmos and the occasional biography or novel; I have tried my hand at slapping paint around, creatively and decoratively; I try to keep up with the issues of the day. I can take something from most music, with the possible exception of ragtime. Occasionally I try to make music (guitar et al), some of it listenable-to (for my grandchildren, occasionally). Okay, most of it not. I eat and drink and laugh as per fairly normal. Laughed loudly at: “Ed Reardon’s Week”. (It’s a radio thing: I love Ed's incisive cough and envy his gift with women.) Sometimes I think I look okay sometimes. I’m a fairly practical person: most of my underwear isn’t pink.

As far as striking up a conversation is concerned, I’d prefer to listen than to read. Even the sound of my own voice is preferable to stabbing characters onto a screen. So, let’s step beyond the glass wall and cut to the metaphorical, and - by the sound of it - rather crowded café. Be in there or be in the square, either will do. At the very least it will soothe our RSIs, if not effect a long-term cure for our aches.

I'm looking for:

An idealised match would, of course, have to idealise me and we all know where that would lead... Meeting someone with whom to expand a bit on the artistic/creative side of life seems desirable. Perhaps dancing would be an enjoyable way to channel some of our energies. OK, so you don't want to dance, but you might like walking a little bit.
