About me:

I am a liberal Democrat. I believe deeply in a higher power and spirituality but eschew most organized religion. I love the ocean and walking on the beach. I like to travel and visit museums, zoos, aquariums and historical sites. I am a member of RCI and Interval International so I stay at nice condos when traveling. I tried tent camping for a weekend recently and had a great time -- thought I had left that behind in my twenties after a two week canoe trip in the Adirondacks. That indeed was a trip of a lifetime. (Wish I had walked down the Grand Canyon then too! After a visit to the Grand Canyon a few years ago, that particular hike appears too strenuous now.)

A hike in the woods or a long walk on a country road is a good chance to talk and get some exercise. I usually walk during lunch at work and I take aquacize classes a few times a year at the local college. I have exercise equipment galore at home, including a pool, but the hard part is discipling myself to use all the stuff. Having an exercise partner would be great! Staying fit and eating healthfully to enjoy my future are important priorities to me. I watch documentaries, science shows and the news on TV. I am also a member of Second Life, an online virtual world. I play chess, bridge and scrabble but none seriously. I also pistol shoot at a local sportsman club (for self-protection, not competition).

I enjoy classical music and concerts, but the oldies, especially the Beatles and Janice Joplin always resonate with me. Country, jazz and the Blues rate high also.
