Dear Heart

Author: ustju

Dear heart have you lost the flame
That once kindled the warmest feelings
Within the frame of this body
Sending myriads of ripples chasing down my spine?
Have you forsaken those deepest emotions
Which evoked purest thoughts of love divine?

You stand alone bereft of all nourishment,
Caged within a useless framework,
And numbed by the loss of what kept you alive.
I blame you not, for solitude tears one apart;
But if you were to find love again
Will you reject Cupid's arrow, Dear Heart?
