If I could sing

Author: ustju

If I could sing of love
I would sing about you
Of all the things we shared
And those we promised to do.

If I could sing of love
I'd tell the tale of a child
Who stood stark naked on the shore
In a life pristine and wild.

If I could serenade a song
Let me summon the leaders of this earth
To sign a treaty one and all
To allow each fetus see its own birth.

If I could produce the faintest sound
I'd set it free to nations far and wide
To do away with greed, injustice and hate
And by God's law declare each to abide.

So let me chant and raise my voice
And bring discomfort to an end
To help change conflicts into harmony
And every foe into a friend.
