Pushed Away

Why are you so angry?
No one really knows.
Maybe it's because,
You don't like the life you chose.

Why are you more bitter,
With every passing day?
I guess you know you screwed up,
thinking cheating was "okay".

Why do you want me back,
After you left me just for fun?
I guess you finally realized,
I was supposed to be "The One".

I'm better off without you
and you will not be missed,
Maybe that's why you're so bitter...
Maybe that's why you are pissed.

There's a lesson to be learned here,
Don't cheat, lie, or betray...
Because in the end you just might love
the one you pushed away.

Most apropos my dear young lady, a shadow of bitterness and a feeling of betrayal. Love can only be when two hearts beat as one,if his did not beat with yours then he never knew the same love as you. Keep the faith, you write with much romance and a tenacity that shows great strength...Regards..John

Uhhh, hahaha NOT! Because when I push away people - like every other female - it's for a REASON. I HATE or intensely dislike the people I pushed away, specifically because of their actions. The people I pushed away - and I don't think I'm alone here - deserved to be SHOT. Pushing them away was a mild reaction. For example, a woman SHOULD push away liars, cheaters, stalkers, paedophile stalkers, and any man whose name rhymes with DIRT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the better poems I've read so far. It communicates the very real truth that betrayal can kill even the deepest love.

Wonderfully writen poem. I felt your pain, anger and betrayal. However, also can see your strength for being able to write about the tragic ending of the relationship. I feel for you.
