let me hold you

i see the tears running down
your face,
i see the mess he left all over
the place.
i'm not here to lecture or to
scold you,
i'm here for you,so let me
hold you.
now the grass has turned brown
on the other side,
and you wonder how you could have
gotten taken for a ride.
i'm not here to lecture or to
scold you,
i'm here for you,so let me
hold you.
i can replace those tears with a
smile,
and i won't leave you,i'll stay for
quite awhile.
you want a love that you can count
on,
you want someone you can always
depend on.
that person is me,if i can be so
bold,
and i'm here for you,just let me
hold you
