Autumn's Fate.
Author: shakespeare09What lesson can we learn from autumn's fate?
The leaves that fall with winter's cold embrace,
In Time reborn each spring shall God create.
Slain dawn arise shine warmth upon my face!
For love doth share this fire with each sunrise,
And climbs the height tow'rd heaven's gate above.
O masquerade, I shed from your disguise,
There is no truth more true than that of love.
And though the cold is just around the bend,
The flame to which the sun has burn'd my soul
Will warm my heart when summer's at its end.
The question asked, "For whom the bell will toll?"
As long as spring shall follow winter's death,
this flame will last until my final breath.

About this poem:
My first attempt at a sonnet. A sonnet of how lovers may come and go like the seasons but the impressions of how we loved them last forever.
