By Myself

I finally made it all the way
Back to how I was before
And at the end of every day
I know I've made it for sure
I've struggled from the very bottom
And will eventually make it to the top
I thought that I'd been forgotten
Even that didn't make me stop
I felt alone at the worst of times
Overcome by terrifying thoughts
Looking for any positive sign
Optimism, not something I was taught
I'm now back to where I started
Didn't think I could do it all myself
The old me has finally departed
And I did it without any help
